It’s June, Chicago! We are ready to kick off the month with some exciting happenings around town and are looking forward to the start of summer activities in the city! Let’s just hope the temps stay nice and we can finally put away our spring jackets and enjoy some summer weather. Happy June, Bitches.

Monday

This Monday kicks off Negroni Week! That’s right, there is a whole week to celebrate the beloved Italian cocktail. Indulge in the occasion and check out places around the city featuring Negroni specials, like the Strawberry Negroni from River Roast, or a special Negroni cocktail menu at The Florentine, the classic Italian spot in the JW Marriott.  Other spots offering Negroni specials include The Broken Shaker, Nico Osterio, J. Parker, Three Dots and a Dash, all ideal for getting your gin and Compari fix. We will definitely be making sometime to sit back and enjoy this classic concoction; after all, the Bitches love Negronis!

Drinking for a good cause is always a good idea. Every week there are so many ways to give back and have a good time. This week we are going to An Evening at Concrete Cowboy to attend a happy hour presented by Positively Purple, benefiting the Center for Domestic Violence Policy. Come socialize and support a great organization that strives to raise awareness and funds for the prevention of domestic violence.  Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the organization in their mission to advocate for the prevention of domestic violence and the protection of victims. The Center for Domestic Violence Policy is a national organization whose primary mission is to address and curtail the most pervasive crime in our country — domestic violence. Concrete Cowboy is always a good time, and this week you can feel especially good about letting loose on #humpday! Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here. Concrete Cowboy, 646 N Franklin St.

Thursday

Claridge House Chicago, the new boutique lifestyle hotel in the Gold Coast opened this May, has added a new chic restaurant to it’s residence. We will be checking out the hotel’s new ground-floor restaurant Juniper Spirits & Oysters, which promises to provide guests with a sophisticated, yet approachable menu of seafood-centric fare. With a mantra inspired by Ernest Hemingway: Be Happy, Make Plans, we are so excited to check this cute spot out! Chef Felipe Patron crafts modern American cuisine, with a focus on seafood, offering menu items such as a Chicago Style Oyster Roll with fried oysters, dijonnaise, pickle relish, sport peppers, tomatoes, and onions on a poppy seed roll. The all-day menu also includes Juniper’s signature Sauced Oysters – oysters on the half shell immersed in booze-infused, cocktail-inspired granitas, including Gin & Tonic, Spanish Sangria, Bloody Mary, or Greyhound. Other seafood options include a classic Lobster Roll, Smoked Trout Flatbread, and Prince Edward Island Mussels. Get excited; the restaurant will be offering brunch too!
