OK, for real. Temperature highs in the 40’s and 50’s…what’s going on, Chicago? With this week’s jam packed social calendar, we’re really hoping for some spring-like weather to make the most of NFL’s Draft Town, all things James Beard, and the opening of Chicago’s very own, Rent the Runway storefront. Hopefully we’ll be able to dine al fresco by the weekend, since we’d like to put our Patio Brunch Guide to good use!
Say hello to Monday and stop by the ‘on-the-go meets luxury gourmet’ cafe, Goddess and the Baker. Snag a cup of craft coffee at this chic café, which is brought to you from the Goddess team we all know and love. Goddess and the Baker opens its 33 South Wabash location today!
#JBEeatsweek is here! Chicago is getting ready for the James Beard Awards (May 4th at the Lyric Opera House) with all sorts of foodie events. One of our favorite #JBEatsweek items comes from Joe’s Seafood, Steak, & Stone Crab, who’ll be offering sea scallops lightly seared and placed on top of potato puree, and garnished with krispy kale and finished table side with lobster beurre blanc. Yum!
Good news, seafood lovers! Joe Fish, located at 445 North Dearborn Street in River North, is now open for lunch every Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. (as well as brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) Joe Fish offers guests a daily Fish Counter Special which includes three courses for $25, available during lunch only.
You know the 8+ weddings and bachelorette parties you’re invited to this summer? Rent the Runway opens today and is here to help! Rent the Runway is located at 710 N. Wabash Avenue.
Kick off the weekend by getting together with some of your best guys and gals at NFL’s Draft Town. Chicago’s Grant Park will be open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to the public, for NFL family-friendly fun. Draft Town features live music, food, free player autographs, interactive games, and photo opps.
This Saturday kicks off the outdoor opening of the fabulous Green City Market, featuring visiting and local Chicago Chefs. Past JBF Award winners such as Carrie Nahabedian (Naha & Brindille) and Bruce Sherman (North Pond) will be there to kick off the festivities around 9:30 a.m. The Green City Market is located at the Sound End of Lincoln Park and is open every Wednesday and Saturday.
Brunch, of course! We’re trying out Folkore’s new Argentine brunch. Head over for their “lomo” after your Sunday workout at SoulCycle. Brunch service begins this Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Folklore is located at 2100 W Division Street.
