Labor Day has come and gone but that doesn’t mean our social calendar has to slow down (or that we’re going to stop wearing white)! Check out what’s going on this week in Chicago.

The most important meal of the day is being celebrated all month long. September is National Breakfast Month and our friends who dine at Kanela from September 7th through September 30th and spend $15 or more will receive a free Julius Meinl coffee. If you haven’t been to Jazzin at the Shedd yet this year, your last chance to go is this Wednesday, September 9th. So, go and soak up a bit more of summer lovin’ jazz while sipping wine at everyone’s favorite aquarium. More information here.

Navy Pier—one of the most iconic landmarks Chicago is now going to be screening movies for free in their outdoor movie theater. This Thursday, the Pier will be screening Jaws—a perfect way to take one last bite out of summer. More information here.

Summer might be winding down, but festival season is still here. Riot Fest is back and begins this Friday, September 11th in Douglas Park. This year, No Doubt is headlining; other acts include Snoop Dogg, Modest Mouse, Damon Marley and Iggy Pop. Tickets are still available and more information can be found here.

For those of you, who prefer a more laid-back and leisurely weekend activity, check out the Windy City Wine Festival. The festival takes over Grant Park for two days and features over 300 wines, cooking demonstrations, live music and more. With the city skyline and Buckingham fountain, it’ll make for a picture perfect weekend activity. More information here.

Chicagoans love their beer and you’ll find many beer enthusiasts at the 3rd annual Logan Square Beer Festival this Saturday. The festival will feature 20 breweries and 50+ beers, live music, a raffle full of brewery swag and more. More information here.

Sometimes it’s nice to step outside your box and explore something new, so take time out of your crazy Sunday to explore the wonderful neighborhood of Ukrainian Village at the Ukrainian Village Fest! The festival is from September 12th through September 13th and will have food, wine, beer and live entertainment throughout both evenings. More information here.
