This Week in CHI: Sept. 26 – Oct. 2

With tons of outings, festivals, and more happening this week, you’ll be sure to forget that September is ending. Check out what we have for you to stay busy this week.

Start the week off with a run and perhaps check something off of your bucket list! Fleet Feet Chicago and the inspiring Instagram account @ChicagoBucketList have partnered for an evening run through Chicago tonight. And Eat Purely will be supplying food for all participants, so you can arrive on an empty stomach. So whether you have “go for a run,” “do something spontaneous,” or “meet new people” on your bucket list, you can be sure you’ll achieve all of those tonight. For more info, click here.

Taco Tuesday, anyone? Head to Mona’s Special at ONE18 for margs, tacos, and fun! The event is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and $30 gets you an all you can eat buffet—now that’s a lot of tacos and nachos! Click here for more information.

Join Green City Market for the final Meet the Market of the summer! The event is free, with a suggested $10 donation at the door. With small bites from Chicago favorites like Blue Door Kitchen & Garden, and drinks for purchase from distilleries and breweries in Chicago, this fun-filled event is one not to be missed. If you’re looking for a seafood warm-up to the Oyster Fest happening Friday, then head to Pearl Tavern and taste the brand new fall menu that was just launched! Come in for a bowl of lobster mac and cheese, a hearty salmon burger, or of course, oysters on the half shell. Click to see all of the new features to the fall menu, here.

In its 28th year, Oyster Fest, presented by Shaw’s Crab House, takes over Hubbard Street with live music and of course, seafood. More than 3,000 people are expected to attend this year, and we are sure to be one of them! Find out more information, and how to get tickets, here.

What goes better with fall and football than beer and bacon? Nothing! Head to the Bacon and Beer classic this Saturday at Soldier Field, and drink and eat to your heart’s content. Tickets are still available! Click here for more information.

If you can’t make the Monday workout, then grab your running buddies and workout with two celebrity trainers this Sunday at CitySTRONG. Erin Oprea and Shawn Booth have combined forces to create a fun group workout, while experiencing your city in a whole new way. The workout will take place on the rooftop of 31st Street Harbor, and tickets are still available. Find out more information by clicking, here.
