The brilliant people behind everyone’s favorite oyster bar, Pearl Tavern, have brought Whiskey Thief, a charming and awesome tavern to the town of Evanston. Not to mention a menu crafted by former Au Cheval chef Austin baker as well. After a successful grand opening on Friday, Whiskey Thief has officially opened it’s doors to the public. Come check out delicious craft cocktails, and hand-crafted burgers, some topped with bacon and cheese curds. Oh, and of course, lots of Whiskey. Headquarters Beercade in Lakeview will be hosting its 3rd Annual Paper Airplane Contest! Bring your friends and come have fun by enjoying beer and cocktails while channeling your inner five-year-old. Entry is $5 per piece of paper; come test your paper folding skills and and see if your airplane can truly take flight and fly you to a grand prize of $250. Second prize? Friday

Nothing screams America like ribs! This Friday start your July right with the first day of Windy City Ribfest in Uptown! The event is from noon to 9pm with Main Stage headliners performing. Come see The Personnel at 5 pm and Too White Crew at 8pm. Enjoy your favorite BBQ with great music at the 8th annual festival. Saturday
