This Week in CHI: July 25-31

The last week of July is here and so are some of the most anticipated events of the summer. Grab your friends, your sunscreen and your sunglasses because this week the events are as hot as ever. Check out what’s happening this week in Chicago.



You voted and now it’s time to check out the results when Time Out Chicago’s Battle of the Burgers presented by Guinness, finally crowns the champs. With your favorite local restaurants like Acadia, Butcher & the Burger, Whisk, and many more there are endless delicious burgers to eat. So head over to the Museum of Contemporary Art at 5PM for some Guinness, burgers and to find out who makes Chicago’s best patty. Watch your favorite Chicago team from your favorite Chicago sports bar as the Sox and Cubs verse each other in this cross town classic series. The wait is over Chicagoans – Lollapalooza is finally here. This three-day music festival is possibly the most anticipated event of the summer. With a lineup that highlights Bastille, Disclosure, and Radiohead this high-energy event gets better and better each year. Pepsi Tall Ships Chicago is back! As one of Navy Pier’s most recognized events – it will not disappoint. This five-day festival allows ticketed guest to view, tour, and even sail on some of this year’s most amazing vessels. For more information and to see the 2016 ship line-up, click here.


There is nothing more refreshing than a cold margarita on a hot summer day. Chicago Margarita Festival begins Saturday on the South Shore. Bloody Mary lovers this event is for you! From 10AM – 5PM Bloody Mary Fest is happening in Highwood Park. Get your drink on with bloody Mary tasting from some of the most extreme mixologists and bloody Mary experts. Along with live music and celebrity judging, you can help decide which bloody deserves to win. With categories like taste, presentation, garnish and more – this event welcomes newbies and the most skilled bloody Mary drinkers.
