The weekend is over, Bitches! Here we are Monday morning to give you the scoop on what you should check out this week in the city. From murder mystery dinners and scary Shining-inspired cocktails, to high tea, and to painting up high, there is lots to do. and  It’s Super Bowl Sunday too, so we have got you covered on where to watch J.T. tear up the halftime show.


LondonHouse has launched a new, reimagined afternoon tea service in the hotel’s sprawling, bright lobby. Featuring a curated selection of Sparrow House Blended Teas paired with savory and sweet bites crafted by Executive Chef Jacob Verstegen, the hotel is doing high tea with a modern twis Enjoy some inventive tea treats such as Duck Pastrami, Pancetta Rollups with onion marmalade, and brie, Almond Biscotti with 5J jamon and tomato jam, and Savory Puff Pastry filled with garlic and mushroom pâté, alongside classic morsels including Homemade Scones, Muffins, and Croissants with clotted cream, lemon curd, and seasonal jams. LondonHouse Tea is available at the hotel’s mezzanine-level lobby from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily for $50 a person. Reservations are highly recommended due to limited seating. Have you enjoyed the first weekend of Restaurant Week? We have! Take advantage of the special prix fixe menus from a variety of restaurants all around the city, starting at $22 for brunch or lunch, and $33 and/or $44 for dinner. Over 370 restaurants are participationg, including 115 new participants for 2018, so get a taste of Chicago’s restaurant scene. Head on over to the 360 Chicago Observation Deck the 94th floor of the John Hancock Center for a painting party with a view like no other! Sip on wine and enjoy views of the lake and famous Chicago Skyline, while creating unique works of art. The ticket price includes one complimentary drink ticket plus use of all paint supplies and aprons, instruction, and a 16×20 take-home canvas!  As a bonus, guests will also get a free ride on TILT, the thrilling attraction at the Observation Deck that allows you to tilt outward over Magnificent Mile 1,000 feet high. Carnivale will be hosting “Murder at Mardi Gras: An Interactive Murder Mystery Experience”this Wednesday. Guests are invited to solve a mystery; a murder at a Mardi Gras celebration. Guests will feast on a special three course dinner featuring their Carnivale Salad, Braised Short Rib with Hazzard Free Farms grits and pickled vegetables and Tres Leches for dessert. The evening will begin at 6:30 PM with a cocktail party, and the show will begin at 7:00 PM when guests are seated for dinner. Guests are encouraged to wear Mardi Gras costumes and accessories! Calling all friends and foes of Cupids. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, the Second City will be bringing lots of love and laughs to Chicago this month. Every Thursday in February, “It’s Not Me, It’s You”,  an improvised adventure into the modern dating scene and the age-old phenomenon that is falling in love, will be playing at the Second City Theatre. Your host team, Commitment Issues, will take you on an exploration of dating apps, introduce you to a weekly guest team that they’re going steady with, and round out the show with a musical journey through relationships both successful and tragic with their form The Mixtape. Get ready to fall in love with this show. Tickets are $10 a person and can be purchased here.


Over 600 of Chicago’s top corporate and community leaders will descend on The Field Museum on Friday, February 2, 2018 for the newly revamped Grand Chefs Experience, Chicago’s premiere culinary benefit, presented by The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The event brings together Chicago’s most sought after chefs, pastry chefs and mixologists preparing signature dishes and drinks for attendees. Ukrainian Village gastropub the Rookery is channeling Stanley Kubrick’s film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Shining as the inspiration for a series of events in the venue’s second-floor lounge. Visitors at “Room 237” can expect an array of themed cocktails with names like the Caretaker, the Hedge Maze and Redrum, and movie-inspired decor. Additionally, the organizers behind this pop-up have taken some extra steps in bringing The Shining to life. Guests will interact with the characters of Jack, Wendy and loyal bartender Lloyd, while relaxing in a replica of the Overlook Hotel’s gold room. Each evening the pop-up will kick off with Stephen King trivia, hosted by Consequence of Sound. “Room 237” will only be open on Saturdays from 9 p.m. until 3 a.m. The pop-up bar is free.
