Fair warning, you are going to want to pull out the stretchiest pants you own for your social calendar this week in Chicago. We are eating our way through the city with loads of unique, thoughtful and fun dining events every day! There is something for everyone here. From coursed meals with wine pairings, to the beginning of the 11th annual restaurant week, you will be stuffed and seriously happy come Sunday. Make sure to save room for brunch!


This season, RPM Steak began hosting their first ever Winter Beef Series, a four-part educational class and dining experience. This Monday, guests can enjoy a five course tasting of their Signature cuts. Learn and taste your way through five courses, each with wine pairings to match. Sick of the same old after-work grind? Grab your friends and head on over for History Happy Hour and make “Drunk History” come to life! This week the museum is sharing tales from the Great Chicago Fire. Discover how Chicago was rebuilt from the ashes to become The Second City and hear how Mrs. O’Leary and her cow Daisy became overnight legends. Bite Café in Logan Square is hosting a unique three-course dinner experience this Wednesday. Along with Letherbee Distillers, one of Chicago’s most beloved local distilleries, Executive Chef Zack Sutton will serve a thoughtfully conceived menu paired with Letherbee gin cocktails. The Letherbee team will also be in the house to discuss their gins, talk about the brand, and engage with guests.The three-course dinner with pairings is $40,with reservations available from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.  For more information, click here.


Friday Chicago Restaurant Week begins, so this Thursday we will be helping kick off the festivities at the First Bites Bash celebrating the 11th annual Chicago Restaurant Week. Inside the magnificent Aon Grand Ballroom at Navy Pier, guests can enjoy savory and sweet food tastings from 60 of Chicago’s most celebrated chefs and restaurants. Toast to the city’s culinary scene with beer, wine, and cocktail pairings. Lee Wolen, executive chef and partner at Boka restaurant in Lincoln Park, will host this year’s event, from which a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Friday officially kicks off Chicago Restaurant Week! From January 26th to February 8th, indulge in dining deals from some of the city’s most fabulous restaurants. Enjoy prix fixe menus from a variety of restaurants all around the city, starting at $22 for brunch or lunch, and $33 and/or $44 for dinner. Over 370 restaurants take part, including 115 new participants for 2018, so get a taste of Chicago’s restaurant scene: Italian, French, Spanish, Chinese and everything in between! From neighborhood favorites to downtown hotspots, you can feast on delicious multi-course menus all across the city and suburbs. Can’t get a Friday reservation for Restaurant Week? Then snag tickets to an exclusive dinner at Truluck’s Seafood, Steak & Crab House. The restaurant, which recently opened its doors in the Gold Coast, is hosting its inaugural wine dinner event with Napa’s Duckhorn Vineyards at 7 p.m.  This sophisticated four-course menu  will be presented by Executive Chef Daniel Sanchez and will feature a variety of indulgent preparations using seasonal ingredients and flavors, designed to pair meticulously with some of Duckhorn Winery’s most famed varietals. This includes Duckhorn Vineyard’s “Three Palms Merlot”, which was recently praised as the year’s number one wine by Wine Spectator and is now a hard-to-find commodity. Tickets are $150 per person. Grab your Friends and head on over to Split-Rail for their special Restaurant Week brunch featuring a curated Friends vs. Seinfeld menu. We will be at the West Town hot spot kicking off the first weekend brunch of Restaurant Week. The restaurant will be featuring prix fixe menus paying homage to the popular 90’s sitcoms. For $22 a person, come check out Seinfield and Friends-themed dishes that reflect some of the best food-focused episodes from both shows. Keep those stretchy pants out, because Donut Fest is back again for it’s 5th year here! The best bakeries in Chicago will gather and bring you the best cruller, ring or long-john for you to sample. Come taste the delicious entries from some of our city’s best bakers and finest coffee purveyors, and leave with a take-home goodie bag for true donut officianados.
