Well, February came and went, however, it didn’t quite feel like February at all. If the weather this March is anything like it was in February, we may have to break out some of our best options for dining al fresco a little early this year. Just in case the weather has that normal pre-spring chill, this week’s District events and food things will not let you down.

Celebrate African American History Month with a program that touches on art and history through storytelling. This class is being held at the National Portrait Gallery, but hurry up because space is limited. Check out the event, here.

Calling all of our Bethesda Bitches! City Perch is known for its fabulous happy hour, so just because the weekend is over, doesn’t mean the fun has to be. Catch a flick after drinks for the perfect date night. Oh, and their brunch is pretty on point, too. Find out what we had, here.

Our favorite Italian foodies are hosting a fondue fest this Wednesday and it truly has us salivating. Join Via Umbria for their 3rd annual MELT event, D.C.’s biggest and best fondue party. If you’re starting your weekend off with a bit of culture through D.C.’s fabulous museum scene, you should know that the Pavilion Café in the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden has just launched a special, limited-time, evening menu for the Sculpture Garden’s extended weekday hours, which last until March 11. It’s the perfect after-work activity! The Pavilion Café will offer shareable appetizers such as chicken satay with sunflower butter sauce, soft pretzels with cheddar and ale dip, warm spinach and artichoke dip, and more. Union Kitchen is hosting Meet the Makers on Saturday, March 3rd at Union Kitchen in Ivy City. Come eat, drink, and meet the entrepreneurs behind DC’s emerging food and beverage brands! The Industry Networking portion of the event runs from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m and the event will be open to the public from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available, here.

Luke’s Lobster just hit the main city of D.C., right off the Farragut West Metro stop. They are serving killer lobster rolls, shrimp rolls, crab rolls, and a seasonal salad. Their food is fresh, delicious, and the perfect Sunday meal, or afternoon snack, honestly.
