Can you believe it’s nearly the end of summer? The only good thing about the dwindling number of poolside weekends is that it’s nearly fall fashion season. We’re kicking it off right by throwing a fashion preview party with INTERMIX Georgetown and J.BRAND. So, on Tuesday, August 27, come sip complimentary champagne, nosh on apps, listen to beats by our fave DJ, Ryan Ulbrich, and shop for your perfect pair of fall jeans– a J.BRAND fit specialist (and the Bitches) will be on-hand to assist. RSVP on Facebook.

But first, let’s get through this week.

First up, it’s Restaurant Week! Snag some great deals for lunch or dinner, but make your reservations early. See the full list of restaurant specials here. Our pick? Policy will be showcasing its brand-new menu for the event in a four-course meal for dinner only—one starter, two main courses and the option of one side or a dessert for $35.13, price does not D.C. sales tax or gratuity. Make reservations here. Some other Bitch-approved suggestions would be Azure, Al Dente, B Too, Daikaya, Lavagna, Mintwood Place, Rasika, to name a few.

Tonic is celebrating the grand opening of its patio with a Tiki Garden Party Tuesday night. Call to snag an invite, or head there later this week to check it out for dinner or brunch. 2036 G St. N.W., Washington, D.C.

Speaking of Tiki huts, there’s also a new secret tiki hut at Jack Rose.

One of our favorite authors, Chuck Klosterman, will be signing his famous novels at Sidecar at P.J. Clarke’s Wednesday evening. Didn’t get an invite? Hang out upstairs for the happy hour and a chance sighting of the celeb author. We’re loving P.J. Clarke’s new bubbly menu, which includes not only mimosas and kir royals, but also lemon pop and passion mimosa cocktails. P.J. Clarke’s, 1600 K St. N.W., Washington, D.C.

The Greater Washington Sports Alliance and SneakerBall are busy preparing for the September SneakerBallX Gala. Thursday night the group is hosting a Friendraiser to celebrate their success so far. Join them at Marvin from 6 to 9 p.m. to get involved with the event. Plus, there will be an open bar and hors d’oeuvres. Marvin, 2007 U St. N.W., Washington, D.C.

Toast to the Dog Days of Summer at a rooftop happy hour at the Penthouse Pool, on the fourth floor of the U Street VIDA Fitness. Open to all Penthouse and VIDA members and their guests, the summer evening will feature refreshing cocktails and a light summer menu. Bring your swimsuit for an evening dip. Penthouse Pool, 1612 U St. N.W., Washington, D.C.

Columbia Heights pizzeria Piola, which specializes in Italian-style thin-crust pizza, will premiere its “No Limit” Pizza Brunch this Saturday. Get unlimited wood-fired pies and bottomless sparkling drinks and sangria. We can’t wait to try the classic Italian pies. Brunch will be served Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests can enjoy unlimited pizza for $15.95 ($7.95 for kids) and add bottomless sangria and sparkling drinks for an additional $15.

If you’d like to have a laugh, check out the LYGO comedy brunch at Shaw’s Tavern, where the laughs are better than the food. Visit the LYGO website for details on their Wake & Bacon shows.

Brunch, of course! Lately we’ve tried Ghibellina, and the Caucus Room.
