Is it time for fall fashion yet? It’s August, so the fashion magazines and retailers say yes.
Well, in that case, this fall, the first piece I plan to incorporate in my wardrobe is a twill, army green utility jacket. This piece is surprisingly versatile. I love the idea of mixing this masculine piece with feminine selections—over a lace dress or with a lace skirt or paired with pink. It’s also spectacularly fun to combine the military and nautical options—a Breton striped tee or shirt dress layered under a utility jacket.
Some fabulous fashion bloggers, Blair of Atlantic Pacific, Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere and Lacey of A Lacey Perspective, have been pairing utility jackets with a host of pieces for some totally adorable ensembles.
A utility jacket is the perfect light weight jacket for fall. You can wear it with jeans, a tank top and riding boots for a look that’s on point for fall. Or, if it’s raining, wear it with your Hunter wellies.
Or, if you’re feeling like a fashion blogger, you can dress it up for work and play like the ladies above. Either way, it’s a useful piece to have hanging in your closet… no wonder they call it a utility jacket.
