We Bitches love supporting local businesses, particularly those owned by women. Well STYLECABLE is just that, and more. Founded by a lovely little brunette Uyen Tang, the online boutique is a curated collection of pieces created by up-and-coming female designers.

Inspired by her travels as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. State Department, Uyen envisioned an opportunity to connect style-conscious consumers with fashion-forward clothing. So she went off to business school at UPenn and came out with STYLECABLE.

STYLECABLE takes the best parts of shopping at boutiques or at upscale flea markets and marres the experience into a curated online shopping experience that offers a unique mix of modern and edgy pieces by emerging fashion designers. There is a heavy focus on the designers, who are featured on the site sharing their stories and inspiration with customers. You feel a similar experience to meeting the designer at a trunk show or arts and crafts market, putting a human face onto the shopping experience.

For instance, both Bitches have received the hexagon Triangle Stud Earrings from Melanie Auld. Melanie is a designer based in Vancouver who has been making her edgy yet delicate pieces since 2003. I’ve already received several compliments on her earrings, including at dinner at Corduroy last night from the boyfriend’s lovely, stylish mother.

STYLECABLE caters to the trendy yet respectable female professional, providing intelligent aesthetics, clean silhouettes, and customized selections. These are products that are unlike something you’d find in a J.Crew or Nordstrom but you can still integrate the pieces easily into your everyday wardrobe.

STYLECABLE is having its launch party and pop-up shop next Tuesday, April 23, at 1776 in downtown Washington. There will be cocktails, canapes, and a curated shopping experience. The Bitches will definitely be there. The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at 1133 15th St. N.W., Washington, D.C.

If you can’t make it, or until then, you can shop STYLECABLE online, and they offer free shipping on all U.S. orders. Here are our picks.
