For someone who has an irrational fear of glitter, I must admit that I do like to don a little sparkle every once in a while. And the holiday season is the perfect excuse to add some sequins to your wardrobe, because if not now, when?
Sequins shouldn’t be reserved for nighttime. We fully support sporting sequins to a fun brunch, family get together, or daytime holiday affair, by way of a sparkling bag, sweater, or kicks, per our suggestions below.
To make a bolder statement, invest in a sequin dress that can be dressed up with a fur stole, like the one I’m wearing here, or paired down as a skirt, by simply throwing a striped top or neutral sweater over it—which is how I’ll be wearing this dress on Christmas eve. Fur and sequins are the perfect look for Christmas and New Year’s eves.
Because the sequins steal the show, I tend to keep the rest of my outfit neutral with nude pumps, like these Vince Camuto pumps and this GiGi New York clutch— one of our go-tos.
Of course, you can never go wrong with a bold lip, especially this time of year. I’m sporting a cult classic, MAC Russian Red, which never fails, season after season.
