Ah December! We are so happy you are here and in full force! The holidays are upon us, and it seems as if everywhere that gets a cold winter has been hit with abnormally cold weather already. While in Chicago, we are used to below freezing temps this early in the season, we know that our friends on the East Coast could use a little help preparing for the colder days to come.
To keep warm, we have all of the fluffy, plush coats and warm, wooly hats that will be perfect for keeping comfy while not compromising style. We are layering up bright plaids, perfect for the holiday season, and covering up with soft, cream colored jackets, to match the festive backdrop of the neighborhoods and cute restaurants we’re checking out this month.
The Bitches partnered with ZipFit Denim this fall, aka my latest obsession. No joke, I don’t know how I lived my life before I was introduced to ZipFit Denim. Based on the premise of creating a customized shopping experience to get you the perfect fit for your jeans, ZipFit Denim has customers in for a fitting first. You try on different jeans to find the ideal pair and size, a tailor takes your measurements, and then customizes the jeans to fit your body (and booty!) perfectly.
The company began with an all-male clientele dedicated to tailoring mens jeans, but have made their customized offerings available to women in the last year. The prices are similar to those at your favorite department stores—but the retail price includes the fitting and tailoring services! Amazing!
I had the pleasure of going in to get fit and sized for a complimentary jean fitting, and it was love at first fitting. My stylist, Julianna, greeted me and was eager to help me find the perfect pair of jeans. I was craving an ultra-skinny pair of black jeans, and Julianna helped me pick the perfect pair, all while also helping me discover I have a butt– who knew?!
I settled on a pair of dark black Paige denim skinny jeans. And a week later, an Uber driver delivered to me my new custom jeans that fit me to a T. I love them. For my go-to December look, I pair my new skinny jeans with a plaid button-down and a sweater and maybe some statement jewelry to dress it up. With the temperatures dropping, I am obsessed with my shaggy Free People jacket.
Meanwhile, I love the simplicity of the Celine small trotteur shoulder bag. The perfect on-the go bag to add a touch of elegance to an everyday outfit, this bag is ideal for every season. I especially love that the strap is long enough to be worn as a cross body—even over my puffy jacket.
But, my favorite winter accessory right now though would hands down, have to be, my pom fox fur cashmere hat. My hat is from York Furrier here in Chicago, but there are similar ones everywhere, from cheap faux fur ones, to this real cashmere hat. An added bonus? The pom is removable!
