Every year the leaves start to turn and I start to break out my fall essentials, beginning first with the plaid, fall tones (navy and burgundy), light jackets, and all those accessories. It’s like my very own holiday—the weather gets cool and I dive straight into my closet. The floppy hats, the leather shoulder bags, the plaid scarves. The texture, the tones, the fun!
Fall really is a fashion fiend’s dream come true. This year, fall came later than usual—as is the norm these days. This meant more time for the fall wardrobe, without winter coats, and this Florida girl was oh-so-grateful.
Each year, I add a couple new plaid pieces to my wardrobe—because honestly I just can’t resist. The plaid shirt dress is a basic Bitch staple—it can be dressed up or down for any occasion (brunch, winery visits, dinner, or a work meeting.) It’s also flattering on most figures.
I have a couple plaid frocks in my repertoire, but I couldn’t resist this soft navy plaid shirt dress with an oh-so-flattering fit-and-flare cut. At $100, it was the perfect price point. I’m loving the rich, soft navy plaid dresses out this season and also the unique plaid frocks with creative cuts and hemlines.
For this look, I was feeling the Western vibes with plaid, suede, and these booties that have a rugged feel.
A low bootie with a block heel in a neutral suede will serve you most of the season, from day to night. These Splendid booties are so damn comfortable I have them in two colors—grey and beige—as they take me from brunch to shopping to dinner and drinks.
