In case you’ve been sitting under a proverbial fashion rock, you may have noticed that mint is the one-and-only color choice of fashionistas everywhere for spring.
Mint is fresh, light, lovely and fun– it essentially embodies spring. A change from the jewel tones of fall, mint is more demure and calm when compared to turquoise yet more unique than sky blue.
The shade pairs perfectly with my favorite color, hot pink. It also looks lovely with black-and-white patterns– think polka dots, stripes, gingham, a large check, or damask. Mint also looks great with navy– you could wear a navy-and-white sailor striped tee with mint skinnies. Gold also looks great with the spring shade.
As we lust after fabulous frocks on the reg, why not start your spring spending with the purchase of a mint dress? These dresses would look great with pumps or high-heeled sandals in nude, grey, gold or fuschia. I’d avoid black.
Or, if you’re not in the mood for a new dress, pick up a mint blouse and wear it with jeans, white jeans or trousers, a gold skirt, or pink cuffed shorts.
Speaking of fashion, it’s time to announce the winners of our two giveaways: GiGi New York and The Ropes of Maine. And, the winners are Heidi Blake, who won the GiGi clutch in the color of her choice; and Courtney Perkins, who won The Ropes of Maine bracelet. The rest of you can still pick up a GiGi clutch (in mint!) with a 20% discount by using the code “BRUNCH”.
