The Lust List: Lush Leather

Fall is by far and away my favorite season: The weather is perfection, the leaves change, there’s college football, pumpkin lattes, and outdoor activities like wine tours, pumpkin carvings, apple picking, and more.

But, let’s be serious, the number one reason I love fall is the fashion. (By the way, did you get your five-pound Vogue September issue in the mail? Hallelujah!) Every year, my AmEx begs me to control my fashion fever come fall time, and every year, I fail. (Or, win; however you’d like to look at it. I myself am more of an optimist.)

The key trends for fall this year are simply too fabulous to pass up. This year, it’s all about leather, lace, tweed, snakeskin, and burgundy. Fashionistas will be donning leather-trimmed dresses and blouses, accessories and accoutrements accented with snakeskin, lace frocks in the evening (also popular last fall), tweed sets in the office or a tweed blazer and jeans on date night. Military green utility jackets will be the favorite in outerwear, that’s for certain.

In anticipation for fall, we’ve already lusted after snakeskin blouses and utility jackets (finally found one in my size, woop!).

Today, we’re after the chic leather mini—certainly a fashion investment. The leather mini is the consummate sexy evening piece, worn with pumps and a silk blouse now, and tights, boots, and a long sleeve top later in the fall. It can also be dressed down for daytime, worn with tights, riding boots and a sweater tucked in to the skirt.

One thing is for sure, these sexy little skirts are not office apropos.

Don’t worry, we’ll be back soon with tweed, lace, peplum and more all September long. It is fashion season, kittens.
