There’s nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable in your own skin clothing at an event. In the past, the Bitches have been known to take fashion risks, and, those risks don’t always work out as planned. There are so many fashion faux paus to avoid nowadays it’s exhausting.
In addition to the most obvious blunder (an ill-fitting garment may cause you to unknowingly expose yourself), you may also be over-dressed, underdressed, out-of-season, trying too hard, too trendy, not stylish enough, too bright, too boring … and … skirt too short, skirt too long, clothes too big, clothes too tight … (sigh of exhaustion).
While there are wonderful creations like Fashion Tape, the Nu Bra, and Spanx to help keep you in place and prevent showing too much skin, nothing beats having a classic, well-fitting, uncomplicated dress. (Heck, if it isn’t strapless, you can even wear your sexy bra underneath.)
Some of you may always be the Classic Girl, the one who doesn’t take risks but still manages to be stylish and appropriate. Others may be more prone to sartorial experimentation. That being said, there are certain situations—dinner with his parents, the office party, Christmas Day brunch, or another situation when you have no idea what to expect—when going the classic route is your best bet. In an ode to the classic girl, here we have your holiday picks.
