In the springtime, there is little that brightens my morning more than slipping on a billowy, above-the-knee, full skirt. I instantly feel feminine and put-together upon zipping the side zipper and slipping on a pair of cute ballet flats or sandals. Luckily, the full skirt is out in full-force this season, with designers focusing on four key prints– polka dots, stripes, florals, and tribal motifs. All of these prints can be worn spring, summer, and even updated with cardigans, booties, and tights come fall (but let’s not think about that just yet!)
Polka Dot (Annie Mae Dot Skirt, Marc by Marc Jacobs, $188, Saks Fifth Avenue). Also cute, the appropriately titled Tutti Frutti Esti Skirt ($275) by Kate Spade.
Stripes ( Striped High-waist Skirt, Alice and Olivia, $165, at Neiman Marcus or Net-a-Porter). Other great options are the black-and-creme striped Eva Franco’s Aniseed skirt ($128) at Anthropologie, and Milly’s Bar Harbor skirt ($195) at Nordstrom.
Floral (Pondicherry Skirt, Leifsdottir, $198).
Tribal (Ukita Patchwork Skirt, Marc by Marc Jacobs, $328, Nordstrom)
