The Lust List: Fresh Floral

April showers bring may flowers, as they say. And, while florals used to be relegated to grandmothers, frumpy Midwestern housewives, and ’90s teens (Hello, Blossom), the taboo of the print is no longer.

Printed trousers are a very popular thing this spring—from stripes to mod to medallions, and, most notably, floral print pants. Runways, magazines, fashion blogs, and, of course, Pinterest, are covered in fresh flowers these days, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate spring by adding a stand-out piece to your wardrobe.

But how to wear the floral pant without looking ridiculous? For starters, a tad of confidence. (You’ve got this ladies.)

Then, I’d suggest investing in some solid-colored silk blouses, which pair well with floral pants and either pumps of the same shade or some sexy strappy sandals. Another great option is to pair floral bottoms with a striped tee, or even a solid-colored lace blouse. For work, a striped or white button down and pumps would be chic-yet-professional. Or, a solid-colored silk cami or tank with a tailored blazer will also look chic.

If you’re really looking to up your fashion credentials, rock your floral trousers with leopard print pumps and a military style jacket.

Or, if you’re looking to chill out on the weekends, pull together a relaxed-yet-stylish model off duty look by rockin’ floral pants, a baseball tee and some sneaks (Converse, of course).

For further assistance on how to rock the trend, plenty of fashion sites, including two of our favorites, Glitter Guide and Refinery 29, have plenty of tips. If all else fails, take to Pinterest, you’ll know what to do.
