Denim vests go with everything, and they’re the consummate summer layering piece. At first, you may not believe me, but you soon will. And, before you know it, a denim vest will be your summer style staple, too.
While the denim vest is often the attire of construction men and laborers, it can, ironically be used to make a variety of summer ensembles look chic. For starters, your go-to outfit this summer is a cotton little black dress, a statement necklace, a denim vest, a top not and sunglasses when you’re running late and didn’t have time to wash your hair.
White jeans, a grey v-neck t-shirt, and a denim vest is a great look for a night out this summer. If you feel like putting together a more memorable ensemble, opt for maxi skirt, tank, and vest. You can also go bright with denim and neon—add some bright heels with that LBD and vest for a night out. Or, for a more unique, but together outfit with white jeans as a base, opt for a striped top with a vest as a topper.
As you know, we kicked off summer with white, denim, and casual cool neutrals in our May Fashion Menu. A denim vest adds a little something-something over a white dress, paired with neutral booties in the spring or gladiator sandals now that it’s summer. For an LA look, throw on some white denim shorts, a grey tank, and denim vest, topped with a Panama hat and messy hair.
In the fall, rock a denim vest over a white or grey v-neck t-shirt with leather leggings and converse for a model-off-duty urban style.
