The Lust List: Borrowed from the Boys

Over the years, I’ve accrued a notable amount of apparel that I lovingly refer to as my man repeller wardrobe. These are items that my girlfriends gaggle and I get complimented on the street by random women (the sincerest form of flattery), but cause the guys in my life to raise an eyebrow or crack a joke. Think harem pants, one piece bathing suits, and metallic Oxfords.

The latest addition to my man repeller selection is a pair of ultra-baggy, ultra-distressed boyfriend jeans. I had been on the hunt for loose denim for almost a year, but everything I tried on was unflattering and stiff.

The wait was worth it; I finally found my dream denim at a random LF sidewalk sale in Greenwich, Connecticut of all places at an extreme discount. This was the best $25 I’ve ever spent. I figured if I wore them once it was worth the money, but I haven’t taken off these jeans since.

If you’re lusting after the boyfriend jean trend too, be persistent. There are tons of different washes, lengths, and cuts on the market and you’ll eventually find your dream pair too.

I typically wear my boyfriend jeans with a tight top or a crop top to keep it feminine and flattering. You’ll be swimming in a loose top and I’ve found that it tends to look a little unpolished. Finish the look with a pair of pumps or strappy stilettos for a pop of sass and to elongate the legs.

Kendra Scott Double Ring (c/o)

Jeans and a tight tee is a classic look, but can be a bit borrowing, so I love piling on the jewels. Lately we’ve been having an ear party moment with statement dangly earrings and ear crawlers and also piling on multi-finger rings like this showstopper from Kendra Scott.

We recently partnered with Trend Tribe to create a capsule jewelry collection based on the personalities of our Bitches Who Brunch editors. For example, the Ally Statement Necklace features my signature gold statement jewelry and the Becca Stud Earrings (pictured below) are classic, elegant, and versatile perfect for constant travel between client meetings and events.
