Still reeling from the outcome of the 2016 election, November has officially hit us like a gust of wind. The country is in chaos, the temperatures are dropping rapidly, and Christmas decorations are already up. Before we know it, it’ll be 2017.
We’re holding on our hats as we race through the end of this epic and momentous year. No matter where your political affiliations lay, there’s some major drama and retail therapy is some of the best therapy. For a fresh change of pace, all of the Bitches are layering on some statement coats as we prepare for a long winter ahead.
During a recent trip to Portland, NYC editor Ally scored this unique Pendleton wool coat, which pretty much goes with everything. The hood is removable and the longer length is perfect for blocking the wind. Add some sassy leather accents and a killer set of heels, and you’re winter-ready in our book.
Below is a smattering of our favorite products and pieces featured in our November Fashion Menu.
Why not make your coat the focus of your outfit? Statement coats are all the rage right now, and Chicago editor, Allison, is enjoying staying warm and stylish. This coat by Tabitha is a great addition to her already black and white wardrobe.
There’s no better way to keep warm than with a fluffy coat. NYC Baby Bitch Britteny especially loves the fleece hood on this one for those extra-chilly morning commutes into the office. We’re also loving a good Pendelton print and a Buffalo plaid for a rugged look, like this Levi’s buffalo trucker jacket from ShopBop.
As leopard is a neutral, HBIC Cori Sue is loving this grey and black leopard coat from Rebecca Minkoff. It will literally go with almost everything in her winter wardrobe.
DC Baby Bitch Tess can’t live without her J. Crew Stadium coat. This is the perfect piece for any occasion and goes with just about everything. She loves how it’s warm and toasty, but not too heavy. Also by the retailer, Chicago Social Bitch Amber is putting some prep in her step this holiday season with the J.Crew Chateau Parka in a bright check pattern.
Cori Sue lives in creme and grey come winter, particularly those nubby, chunky creme oversized sweaters, like this and this. D.C. Social Bitch Annie has a chunky knit sweater for every occasion. This winter she’ll be wearing this Topshop funnel neck sweater with leather leggings to drinks with friends.
Chicago Editor Alexis is obsessed with this cute sweater fringe dress she just got from Anthropologie— currently on sale for $29 which is practically unheard of. Paired with some knit tights and cutout booties, this dress is the perfect fall everyday go to outfit.
Even though people make fun of her for wearing them, earmuffs are Britteny’s favorite cold-weather accessory. These faux-fur earmuffs by Carven are super chic, and Britteny can’t wait to wear them.
Annie is scouting out leather backpacks to add to her Christmas list. She loves this Loeffler Randall mini pack in black for everyday use.
Keep your ears warm and look effortlessly cute in the pom pom knit hat by SOIA & KYO. This slouchy hat has a cute pom on top made from genuine fox fur, and doesn’t break the bank. We also find this pom-pom adorned hat adorable, and will spruce up any winter jacket look.

The best way to style your winter outfits is with statement earrings. It is perfect for when you’re all bundled up, but you still want to show off your accessories.
Dress up a cozy outfit with Vince Camuto ‘over the knee’ boots. Amber loves them for work and date night looks this winter.
Winter skin issues are the worst thank to harsh temps and terrible air conditions. That’s why Alexis turns to Chicago Skin Care expert Leah Chavie’s line of all-natural skin care products, like the Resurface crème. This crème is an all-natural formula that blends soothing botanical oils and skin-polishing and brightening particles to gently buff the skin without irritation, revealing a glowing smooth surface.
Wondering how we keep our pearly whites so bright? This sexy smile kit is our secret!
Britteny’s been really into trying new eye serums and anti-aging products lately (call it her quarter-life crisis), and this one by Peter Thomas Roth looks promising.
It’s important to keep your skin hydrated during the cold, winter months–and you can’t forget about your lips! Tess loves Chanel’s sheer hydrating lipshine.
Gusts of winter wind can leave your hair styles looking disheveled. Hair wax helps to keep your ‘do looking fresh and tidy. Here’s one of our favorite brands.
This Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon perfume has a smoky, sultry scent. It combines vanilla bourbon and oakwood for an oriental-woody musk.
