The temperatures finally hit the fifties and we’re ready to sing it from the rooftops. After a long, dreary winter, we couldn’t appreciate sunny skies and fresh blooms more. Although it’s not quite warm enough to pack away our puffers for the year, we’re already stocking up on pastels and floral prints in anticipation of spring.

To avoid dressing spring-like too early in the game, we’re toning down the pastels and florals with stark, monochromatic neutrals. Black skinny jeans or a leather jacket add a bit of an edge for a city girl on the go. Black and white knits and jackets are also perfect for layering throughout the year, especially during these transitional months.

Below are our editors’ March must-haves via New York City, Washington, and Chicago.

Head Bitch in Charge Cori Sue, pictured, finally gave in to the floral trend. She loves her new Zara midi floral skirt paired with a leather moto jacket from the same European fast fashion retailer. She also can’t resist this Rebecca Taylor black-and-white floral frock. Do you like floral prints but don’t want to splurge on this spring fashion trend? This ASOS Aline Skirt with Border Print is a chic, yet inexpensive buy…perfect for all things spring: baby showers, bridal luncheons, or spring break getaways. In Chicago editor Kristin’s opinion, midi skirts are always a classic hit.

DC Social Bitch Annie loves to stand out in a crowd. This quilted faux leather skirt is sure to make a statement for a night on the town.

Chicago Social Bitch Amber’s crazy for printed denim and this pair of 7 For All Mankind ankle skinny jeans in indigo freesia print is perfection for spring. Also eying prints, Annie struts around the office in style in these LOFT cotton pants. The monochrome print makes this affordable pair palatable for the workplace.

Chicago Baby Bitch Jacqueline can’t wait for the few warm days in March, which means anything over forty degrees, so she can slip on the Keepsake steel light romper, which mixes a structured silhouette and floral print.

Vibrant florals are lining Kristin’s closet in anticipation for their spring debut. Most pieces are from Ted Baker’s spring collection, which is filled with deep florals and whimsical pastels. Kristin loves the rich pops of color in this Ted Baker Floral Print skirt. Amber’s pairing the Lucy Paris pleated scuba skirt in yellow with a floral blouse for an easy wear-to-work look.

Tops
Her Irish roots may be to blame because Amber is loving everything green this month! She is particularly excited about this bright DVF Gabrielle Jacket in Garden Green. If you aren’t ready to commit to a full on floral ensemble, throw on the DVF jacket for a polished look, fit for a fancy pants brunch.

Bitch in the City Ally is all aboard the fringe trend and loves the subtle strands on this tough-girl moto jacket by Blank Denim. The vegan leather is quite affordable at less than $150!

Accessories

Bags
Bucket bags are the latest craze in the way of handbags and Cori Sue is desperate to throw one over her shoulder come spring. Designers including Elizabeth & James, Halston Heritage, and Anya Hindmarch put out beautiful leather drawstring bags in the bucket shape—and we want them all. Rebecca Minkoff’s off-white bucket bag is the perfect piece for spring, though the camel colored rendition is a big more rugged and equally stunning, available at Shopbop. The ladies among us may prefer a pale pink bucket from Elizabeth & James.

Just because Jacqueline is running around town doesn’t mean that she will compromise her style. She employs the Clare V. messenger in cream milano, so she can worry on getting things done rather than things spilling out of her bag.

Amber is jet-setting to unwind in Cabo San Lucas with this Kate Spade ‘Lyla’ nylon weekender bag in a fun green floral print. As if you needed any more shopping temptation, this print is also available on a tote and carry-on luggage. Bon voyage!

Shoes
Annie loves the versatility of these leather d’Orsay flats from Madewell. They’ll be comfy enough to walk to work in.

Amber’s betting the Club Nico ‘Madrid’ sandals in nude will get plenty of wear this spring and summer!

Don’t you hate when you see a can’t-live-without shoe and your paycheck forces you to purchase it in only one color? Whether you choose nude or black, you can’t go wrong with K-Cav’s Celestial Pump.

Jewelry
This Georgia Garden Strand necklace from BaubleBar  would dress up any basic tee or sweater for spring.

Jacqueline is always looking for a way to mix fashion and practicality. The La Mer Saturn watch is the perfect fit, literally. Not only does it keep her from having to pull out her phone in formal settings, its wrap around style ensures it will fit.

No matter if you are working out or brunching, the Jennifer Behr leather headband will keep you looking composed, keeping your hair out of your face and food.

Ally is coveting round-shaped sunnies to protect her eyes in style. She loves this flower-adorned pair and exaggerated nose bridge pair, both from ASOS at an affordable price point, just in case they get left behind at music festivals.

Beauty

Don’t just limit florals to your wardrobe. Annie loves Marc Jacobs’ Daisy perfume for a springtime date.

Don’t feel like wearing a full face of makeup to brunch with the girls? Us either! Kristin says Dior Addict It-Lash Volumizing Mascara is all you need. It highlights your eyes, elongates your lashes, and will last all the way through your Sunday night viewing of Revenge.

Ally puts her freshest face forward this spring with Posietint by Benefit. It’s a multipurpose stain that gives cheeks and lips a rosy, dewy tint.

Here are our top picks to add some spring in your step as we venture towards warmer months.
