We can’t believe it’s already July, but are drowning the sorrows of a half-spent summer with a bevy of patio brunches, cocktails al fresco, and weekends at the beach. Speaking of beaches, we hope you all have a fun and champagne-filled Independence Day!
The only thing better than the Fourth of July holiday is when the fourth conveniently occurs on a Friday, resulting in an automatic long weekend. We Bitches are frolicking across the country to beat the heat with well-overpacked weekender bags. Loving a good theme, you better believe that our suitcases are chock-full of red, white, and blue apparel. Even though this holiday weekend only lasts three days, or maybe four or five for the lucky ones, we’re inspired by the classic tones and patterns of Americana for the entire month. Being a group of stylistically diverse Bitches, we serve the vintage preppy look up with a twist—think tactful embellishments, worn denim, and cheeky accessories.
Clothing Flowy white dresses never go out of style in the summer, especially when styled with a denim vest and your favorite sneakers. Baby Bitch Catherine adores her eyelet Free People dress, the perfect one-piece outfit for the dog days of summer. Becca deviates from the classic Little White Dress with this office-friendly polka-dot frock. Bitch in the City Ally knows that this breezy, off-the-shoulder daisy lace dress from Asos will be a staple for summer concerts and walks through the park. As a Fourth of July baby, just about everything Cori Sue owns is navy and white-striped, pink, or red. A variety of striped dresses are hanging in her closet such as this layered ensemble found at Piperlime and this flounced Tibi number. Bitch in the City Ally isn’t afraid to show a little skin this summer, always tastefully of course. Crop tops with girly details, like scalloped edges or ruffles, keep this modern trend classy. Becca can be spotted brunching on rooftops and patio alike in this J. Crew strapless eyelet top, likely paired with a bright mini skirt or patterned shorts. Maybe Baby Bitch Charlotte will let her borrow this pair of darling navy polka dot shorts, complete with a bow, from Zara. Accessories You can find Baby Bitch Catherine strolling the busy NYC blocks in this chambray J.Crew Baseball Cap. Where sporty meets sharp, this hat embodies an Americana summer. Ally has her eye on the seersucker version. We can’t stop writing about sharp summer sneakers and these gold leather slip-ons by Steve Madden are edgy enough for Social Bitch Amanda Jean. Over in New York, Bitch in the City Emily will have to hold herself back from dancing in the streets in these lightweight lace-up espadrilles from Nordstrom. Becca wears her Ropes of Maine bracelet far too often. It’s perfect arm candy paired with her chunky gold and tortoise shell Michael Kors watch this summer. To borrow a tune from Dr. Seuss, many of the Bitches will have “stars upon thars” this month. Baby Bitch Charlotte is coveting a brassy, star-studded bracelet from Anthropologie. Social Bitch Amanda Jean will keep her ears sparkling with these star studs by Gorjana. We’d be remiss to not mention summer sunnies and are gravitating towards blue polarized lenses. We love the pop of color it adds to this tortoise Warby Parker pair as well as the iconic Ray Ban aviators. Beauty Bright red lips and nails complete an all-star American look. Baby Bitch Catherine can’t live without her semi-matte Nars lipstick, especially in Jungle Red for July. What’s even better? A matching Nars nail polish to complete her look. Cori Sue always has an immaculate manicure and is rotating between Essie’s Bikini So Teeny and Butter London’s Ladybird. Beach by Bobbi Brown smells like summer in a bottle and Bitch in the City Ally plans on nostalgically applying it in months following Labor Day. Benefit’s They’re Real! mascara has already become a cult-classic and is floating around the majority of the Bitches’ makeup bags. Baby Bitch Charlotte has perfected the ultimate cat-eye with the brand’s new Push Up eyeliner for summer nights in the city. Here are the rest of our star-spangled picks for July in our monthly Fashion Menu.
