Summer is here, and we are fully embracing this wonderful Chicago weather. After all, we only get to enjoy it for, maybe, four months each year. With brunch our weekend mission, our sights are set on new restaurants that have popped up across town.
A few months ago, I checked out brunch at the recently-opened, and highly regarded, Quiote. It was so good that I’ve been back several times since. If you haven’t been to Quiote, you should run—not walk—to check it out.
The space is beautiful, comfortable, and inviting, and the food and Mezcal are top notch. The restaurant is just darling; black-and-white photos of the owners’ travels to Mexico line the walls. The decor is devoid of color; instead the color comes from the gorgeous food and cocktails, with greenery scattered throughout the restaurant, and colorful bottles of Mezcal on the wall behind the bar.
With this kind of weather, the outdoor patio is the perfect place for gathering. We love the idea of showing up to brunch in something with a splash of bright color, which is why we love the thought of wearing this cute, burnt orange jumper. Plus, the frock matches our favorite cocktail at Quiote: the Paloma Rosa!
Paired with a plain white, cropped tee and a pair of edgy, strappy sandals, it’s an effortlessly chic and understated look. Accessorize with our go-to bag this summer, this leather day bag from Rebecca Minkoff and another signature summer piece from Rebecca Minkoff: a silk neck scarf.
