Throw some bright colors and preppy stripes on an outdoor umbrella or a restaurant facade and we’re instantly charmed. From its cheerful decor alone, we knew that Santina, the latest addition from the Carbone family in the Meatpacking District, was destined to be a summer hot spot.
We were immediately transported to a holiday on the coast of Italy, inspiring a wardrobe of lightweight linens, wickers, and bold summer prints. Dress to impress at Santina as you’ll definitely be scoped out by tourists exiting the High Line if you’re brunching al fresco.
Try the easy, breezy light fare at Santina such as the green juice, the Calabrian tuna and avocado trapanese, and any of the egg dishes with plenty of veggies. These dishes were filling, but won’t weigh you down in case you’re inspired by the club-centric locale to continue your day with some dancing and champagne.
Speaking of booze, we highly recommend ordering The Bello, served with rum, pomelo, and pepper jam and garnished with a jalapeno pepper. It’s not listed on the brunch menu, but you may be served the cocktail if you give a little Italian charm.
