Admittedly, Chicago gets cold in the winter months—very, very cold. But this year it has been considerably mild, with not many winter snow storms, sub-zero temps, or negative wind chills.
That being said, there is something about the people that live here, the way they display extreme resilience during the winter months, their ability to still dress cute all while freezing their butts off.
This January, during a particularly cold weekend—considering how warm this winter had been—HBIC Becca was in town, and so we brunched. I had been dying to check out Cindy’s Rooftop at the Chicago Athletic Hotel, so I was excited when she, too, wanted to go.
Cindy’s Rooftop is a gorgeous restaurant at the top of the Chicago Athletic Hotel, overlooking Millennium Park and Lake Michigan. In addition to scenic landscape views of the city, the restaurant is aesthetically gorgeous, with beautiful interior decor and furniture, lots of natural light, and an overall awesome ambience.
Cindy’s was hosting its “Soul Sunday” funk brunch on this particular weekend, and a bearded DJ was spinning throwback funky tunes. It is easily one of the coolest spots to brunch in the city, so on this occasion I felt it was necessary to brave the cold weather and dress up in tundra chic.
A simple yet elegant jumpsuit is perfect to pair with some casual animal print slippers for brunch at Cindy’s. The v-neck on the jumpsuit allowed for a cute lace bralette, and a long hanging necklace. The outfit is pulled together with a bold yet casual clutch in light blue. Oh, and don’t forget your winter coat!
