While I love River North, the West Loop, and Wicker Park, my go-to patio neighborhood and all time favorite is Chicago’s Gold Coast. The best people watching in the city can be found along these designer store-front lined streets. Most of the patios drive such high traffic, that a 2 hour seating limit has been instituted. However, I’ve noticed that as long as you keep ordering, they keep serving.
The Park Hyatt is located in the heart of the Gold Coast, at the corner of Chicago and Rush. Located on the 7th floor of the hotel is NoMI, one of the most picturesque patios in Chicago. This NoMI terrace is a little more calm and low key than some of the other Gold Coast hot spots. I’ve been a Chicagoan all my life, but there’s something about dining on the patio of a 5-star hotel, that takes me far away into a vacation mind set.
Their extensive menu offers a variety brunch entrees from a cucumber and feta frittata to their signature sushi. My personal favorite is their warm banana bread that is served alongside a pot of whipped sea salt butter. There’s nothing better than a glass of Prosecco (I sometimes prefer bubbles to coffee) and a warm breakfast pastry on a beautiful terrace in one of the most alive and picturesque neighborhoods in Chicago.
Since NoMI is just one block west of the Mag Mile, we suggest you dress to impress. You can absolutely go in your Nike Epic Luxe leggings, but we like to fancy it up a bit. White anything (rompers, dresses, skirts) paired with a neutral shoe is a timeless look that will even match the outdoor decor at NoMI. Your options after brunch at NoMI are endless…shopping on Michigan Ave., the Green City Market, perhaps even cocktailing your way across town to one of our other favorite brunch patios!
