Six corners in Bucktown is not as offbeat as it once was, but you’ll still spot plenty of eclectic trends and hipster vibes, which makes it a fun place to take a fashion risk. Around the corner, Chop Shop’s no-frills butcher counter makes way to a quaint hidden rooftop, a perfect place for summer brunch.
Recently, Cori Sue and I enjoyed their delicious brunch menu on a sunny Saturday morning. We especially loved their dense cheddar-bacon biscuits and Benedict piled high with lobster and creamy crab hollandaise. We didn’t love the lack of air flow on the patio. Surrounded by other buildings, this spot heats up like a sauna on a hot day. Read the full review here.
The unassuming atmosphere at Chop Shop calls for plenty of chambray and fringe. The embroidered medallions and tiny mirrors on this Tory Burch dress make it casual and cute for a patio brunch. Mix these preppy Jack Rogers wedges with cat-eye sunglasses, a colorful snakeskin cuff, and Rebecca Minkoff fringe bag for a fun bo-ho look.
Post-brunch, strut your stuff around North Ave, new shopping spots are popping up left and right in this neighborhood!
