Cupcakes, and pastries, and croissants, oh my! A third location of Vanille Patisserie opened in Lakeview and Chicagoans are rejoicing. Or at least we are—after we had a sneak peek.
If you’re a fan of pastries and treats, then Vanille is definitely a place to stop by and indulge. Vanille is a French-inspired pastry shop that specializes in Parisian macarons, croissants, and cakes.
The decadent treats on display are not only beautiful but delicious. One of my favorite aspects of Vanille is the annual “Stud Muffin” contest, when fans can submit a name of their favorite stud potentially get a cupcake named after them!
The opening party was stocked full of wine, bite-sized pastries, and everything in between. The owner and head chef, Sarah, greeted the guests, celebrating newest the expansion of her brand. The Bitches love entrepreneurs, so we raised our glass to her!
All guests were able to sample a variety of treats. I chose several of the bite-sized options, including the lemon bar and mini cheesecakes covered in berries. Both were amazing, but my favorite by far was the mini croissant sandwich with melted Gruyere and ham. It was the perfect savory to complement all the sweets.
I hope that some savory options get incorporated into the menu (hint, hint!) because Vanille would be the perfect place to sit with tea and a sandwich and write my Bitches Who Brunch articles.
If you are near a Vanille when you’re in the city, definitely stop by and get yourself a treat!
