I’ve shopped at several Rent the Runway stores in Manhattan, and let me tell you, we are spoiled with the gorgeous Georgetown storefront of the high-end fashion rental company.

On a cold Wednesday night, my friend and fellow bride, Allee, and I took a cab to Georgetown and tackled the massive snowbank that stood between us and the door to Rent the Runway. Upon entering, we shuffled down a mirror lined hallway to a modern white staircase where a giant wall reads: “I have nothing everything to wear.” Yes, tell me more. I keep walking. After a few short steps we emerge into a luxurious haven of beautiful dresses, jewels, and accessories, perfectly displayed on free standing racks and mannequins. Rent the Runway has been touted as “a Netflix model for Haute Couture.” After shopping this location, you’ll see why.

We sipped and shopped with other brides at the #justsaidyes wedding event, with Birchbox, Varnish Lane, and WeddingWire. That night, the store took it up a notch with a DJ, a mani-cam, mini rosé champagne, and a photo booth for all guests to document their fresh manicures, compliments of Varnish Lane, and their new bling, compliments of their beau.

I was so excited to see that Birchbox, one of my other favorite girl boss brands, was not only selling make-your-own boxes for $15, but now has a permanent installation in the store! The subscription beauty box brand sells everything from tinted moisturizer to dry shampoo. We learned that some customers actually pick up their dress, get a quick makeover at Birchbox, and head right to their event. Genius! Allee and I looked at each other and made mental notes.

What we love about the Rent the Runway retail location is that you can try on your dress before deciding to rent it. Essentially, it’s like shopping at a regular retail store, except the dresses aren’t for keeps. So, if you’re in need of an upcoming Valentine’s day outfit, gown for a charity gala, or a fun winter wedding dress, we suggest heading to Rent the Runway in Georgetown—hopefully the snowbank will have melted by then.

Grab tickets to the upcoming Valentine’s Day Prep Party, on Saturday, February 6, here.
