Recap: Nails & Cocktails

Being well-groomed is not a luxury, but a necessity and a manner of politeness. Thus, while I often leave the house sans makeup, I would never dream of heading to a social engagement or even the grocery store without painted paws. Chipped nails? Not an option. We Bitches have to keep it together.

And pedicures? I’m a runner, which means pedicures are not optional—they’re critical. The Bitches have recently become huge fans of the nail saloon, a luxury mani-pedi salon that’s right in our neighborhood. The beautiful space has become an oasis away from the insanity, where we gather on a low-key Friday night to decompress and to clean up. And, as you may have guessed by the name, the nail saloon serves booze.

The nailsaloon is owned by a pair of women entrepreneurs, Andrea and Claudia, who are from Brazil and Argentina, respectively. In addition to creating a safe space for nails, beverages, and girl time, the nail saloon is founded on two other principles: toxin-free beauty, and charitable giving—three percent of the daily profits go to a local women’s empowerment charity.

So, you can get a killer mani-pedi, enjoy a cosmopolish, chat with your girlfriends, and give back. You can be certain you’re actually taking care of yourself, as the nail saloon uses 5-free color, polishes without Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Resin or Camphor. This also means no gels, acrylics, or glues.

To celebrate the holidays, we invited some bloggers and friends in to the nail saloon for nails and cocktails. We popped bubbly from glittery bottles of One Hope Wine sparkling, and served up custom holiday cookies from Monumental Sweets. We snacked on cheese and charcuterie. And, of course, decorated with glitter and gold and stunning holiday bouquets from Urban Stems.

Some of our fave fellow media included Cheralee of Miss Lyle Style, Natalie & Erika of The Fashionably Broke, Meaghan of District Sparkle, Meg of Meg Biram, and Brittney Ann of Hosting & Toasting.

We had such fun sipping cocktails and catching up with some of our own. If you’re in need of a mani/pedi before heading out of town, saddle up to the nailsaloon for some merriment.
