Gilt City has taken over Washington. The luxury online sample sale site hosted not one, not two, but three launch parties last week. Becca was at the first, held at new restaurant Rogue 24, and I attended the second, held at the historic Halcyon House in Georgetown and hosted by party planners extraordinaire BrandLinkDC.
The garden party on the Halcyon’s terraced backyard, which over looks the Potomac, was pure perfection. Loads of lovely people dressed in their summer brights mingled while playing lawn games like croquet, bocce ball and horse shoes.
The cadre of male twenty-something waiters donned khakis, oxfords and brightly colored bow ties. They served frozen mint juleps in silver cups with striped straws and brightly colored napkins.
And, of course, the boy manning the grill was about as precious as can be.
Plenty of pink while handsome bow-tied boys serve a seemingly endless supply of mint juleps? I couldn’t have planned a more perfect party had I done it myself.
