What’s better than a healthy evening with your Bitches? Girl dates these days have turned from cocktails and bites to a ClassPass workout and good-for-you noshes. We hosted just that last week with fitBallet.
We were joined by more than 20 fellow lifestyle bloggers and fitness enthusiasts from around the city for a killer workout and healthy treats from local entrepreneurs.
The fun evening kicked off with fitBallet instruction from the founder herself, Julie Schechter. fitBallet is an incredible new fitness class in New York that combines cardio and weights with ballet positions and movements—all to insanely fun music.
Absolutely no dance experience is required, but you will feel a little “Black Swan”-esque after numerous rounds of plie squats and Arabesque Romanian deadlifts with kettlebells. Every class we’ve taken is challenging and fun–it never gets easier, which is a good thing. You can book fitBallet classes on ClassPass, FitReserve, and on the fitBallet website itself.
After the class wrapped up with a much-needed stretch session, we beelined it for delicious treats and sips from local purveyors. Our evening menu featured healthy soups from Splendid Spoon (the carrot tumeric is to die for!), fresh-pressed juices from Luli Tonix (hello, charcoal lemonade), and gluten-free treats from Tu-Lu’s Bakery (gluten free means muffins are good for you, right?).
Oh, and a Bloody Mary bar featuring Mucho Gazpacho—because who said Bloody Marys aren’t healthy?! After mingling and filling our bellies, guests left with gift bags full of treats including Grady’s Cold Brew coffee packets and adorable fitBallet branded tanks.
Kudos to our friends at UrbanStems for providing gorgeous bouquets to decorate our treat tables!
Thanks to all who joined — we’re looking forward to hosting our next #FitBitches event in New York City!
