Save to Foursquare

We’ve made it through another year of brunching and bitching in NYC, and we have a lot of eggs Benedicts to show for our pictures and in pounds. In true Bitches Who Brunch tradition, we’ve awarded the best bites of the year, from decadent French toasts and brunch pizzas to memorable mimosas.

Best Bread
Doma na Rohu
We loved this cozy neighborhood spot for some grandma-style Eastern European brunching, but the true standout was its bread, from banana chocolate chip bread to pumpkin and zucchini. 27 Morton Street

Best Brunch Pizza
The fabulous pizza is worth the hype and potential wait. Fresh ingredients, friendly service, and a trendy ambiance await you at Marta. 29 East 29th St

Best Pancakes

Five Leaves
The unbelievable towering stack of ricotta pancakes not only secured Five Leaves as our “Best Brunch of 2015”, but also our best pancakes award of the year. 18 Bedford Avenue

Best Breakfast Sandwich

The Nomad Hotel
The NoMad received a golden ticket i.e. A+ this year from Bitches Who Brunch and this was partially thanks to its $26 chicken brunch sandwich, served with foies gras and truffles. 1170 Broadway

Best Acai Bowl

Two Hands

Two Hands
We loved the acai breakfast bowls at Two Hands, which were heaping with gluten free goodness and fresh fruit. 164 Mott Street

Best Avocado Toast

Lure Fishbar

Lure Fishbar
The avocado toast with smoked salmon at Lure Fishbar was an elevated version of the standard classic, while paying homage to the restaurant’s nautical atmosphere. It was refreshing to have avocado toast that wasn’t just served with red pepper flakes and lemon. 142 Mercer Street

Best Brunch Burger

Black Tap Brunch

Black Tap
Black Tap’s croissant burger was our winner, because who doesn’t love a juicy burger topped with an egg and bacon and served on a flaky croissant? 529 Broome Street

Best Eggs
Egg Shop
It’s only fitting that Egg Shop won this category for its unique offerings of strong egg dish contenders for every meal of the day. 151 Elizabeth St.

Best Brunch Pastries

Santina Brunch

The pastry basket from Santina was no joke, filled with a variety of freshly-baked options from chocolate to fruit fillings. This was no day-old pastry basket. 820 Washington Street

Best Coffee

il Buco Alimentari & Vineria
A good latte makes for a good brunch, and il Buco served us the perfect espresso drinks during our brunch this year.
53 Great Jones Street

Best Tea

Lady Mendl’s Tea Salon
A quality afternoon tea with pages of exotic tea options from all over the world is what you’ll find at Lady Mendl’s. 56 Irving Place

Best Steak and Eggs

Central Park Boathouse Brunch

Central Park Boathouse
The thinly pounded steak paillard and poached eggs at CPBH was cooked to perfection. East 72nd Street

Best Doughnuts

Saxon + Parole
Saxon + Parole is solid, but what really stood out was the warm breakfast cinnamon sugar doughnuts served with vanilla cream, chocolate sauce, and passion fruit dipping sides. 316 Bowery

Best Brunch Ramen

The Chashu brunch ramen was a standout; the broth was so rich, salty and tasty, and the pork belly was perfectly cooked. 12 West 21st Street

Best Mimosa (tie!)

Little Prince
We appreciated the slightly elevated  mimosa at Little Prince, served with freshly squeezed blood orange juice and topped with a dash of campari. 199 Prince Street

Murray’s Cheese Bar
Three colorful glasses of champagne are offered in Murray’s mimosa flight: a classic mimosa, a Blood orange, and a specialty cocktail. 264 Bleecker Street

Best French Toast

Pounds & Ounces Brunch

Pounds & Ounces
The brie and fig French toast was slathered in brie, fig jam, and candied walnuts topped with a black-pepper balsamic reduction. 160 8th Avenue

Best Chicken and Waffles

Station LIC
This was one of most interesting presentation of chicken and waffles that we’ve ever experienced as the fried chicken was layered between ham and fried eggs. 10-37 Jackson Avenue

Best Grits

The Wallflower Brunch

The Wallflower
The roasted half lobster with sauce Americaine and creamy grits at Wallflower changed our mind about grits in general. It was decadent and totally amazing. 235 West 12th Street

Best Biscuits

Dirt Candy Brunch

Dirt Candy
The tomato biscuits with basil butter and green tomato jam were so inventive and different, without sacrificing the flaky, decadent goodness that we love about traditional biscuits. 86 Allen Street
