Off to North Fork we went on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The charming restaurant sits on the corner of Christopher and Bedford street in the West Village. Upon walking in, you’re greeted by rustic vibes, exposed brick walls and large windows.
The restaurant is inspired by the North Fork region of Long Island which is carried throughout the space. North Fork offers a bottomless brunch for $35 which includes one entree and your choice of bottomless bellinis, mimosas or sangria. Be forewarned bottomless is limited to 75 min. The menu has a variety of options from Benedicts and burgers to other egg dishes and salads.
My brunch date, Sarah was visiting from Missouri so she was more than excited for a quality meal. First up bellinis were in order alongside iced coffee for a hot June day.
We were torn over the choices but ultimately decided based on our sweet server’s recommendation. The summer skillet eggs were gorgeous upon arrival. A take on shakshuka, baked eggs, harissa chickpea in marinara sauce, chorizo, and tomatoes come together in this dish. It’s beautifully presented with fresh avocado and arugula on top. The mini skillet even comes with an adorable handle mitt. It was packed with flavor and satisfying to our palette.
I settled upon a cauliflower flatbread. I wasn’t craving anything super hot. A housemade cauliflower pizza crust is dressed to the nines with a 3-cheese blend, seasonal veggies including beets, onions and tomatoes, and generously topped with arugula. Cauliflower crusts can be tricky and this one didn’t fall apart thankfully. It tasted great but overwhelming to eat with the plentiful of greens.
North Fork focuses on sustainability and sources produce from local farms in New York and New Jersey, which we definitely support. Everything that came out was super fresh and carefully thought out. Brunch at North Fork was pretty good minus a few hiccups due to being so busy. We’d certainly revisit.
