Yes, the big V Day falls on a holiday weekend this year, and our wanderlust is itching to go. But Valentine’s Day in the City can be a romantic staycation, too. Here are the Bitches’ ideas for sweet gifts and dates this year.

For Her

Every Bitch loves a good bottle of bubbly. We highly recommend picking up a nice brand of champs prior to your night out. We love Tattinger, and of course, Whispering Angel.

Catbird’s flagship store in Brooklyn is offering a ton of fabulous, one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces, as well as charming accessories, for Valentine’s Day. Swing by and pick up a nice piece of jewelry that your date can wear out on the wonderful nigh  we’re sure you already have planned. Right?

For Him

Vinturi, the creator of the original wine aerator, recently launched a line of elegant and sophisticated accessories for wine lovers, including vertical lever corkscrews, traditional lever corkscrews, winged corkscrews and waiter’s corkscrews that make wine opening a breeze, wine bottle foil cutters, wine pourers that provide for seamless serving and wine stoppers that ensure freshness, as well as champagne openers and champagne stoppers that make sure your bubbly is just right.

We Bitches love our subscription boxes, but how about one for the man in your life? Check out Mantry, a food of the month club tailored to guys that features a plethora of awesome products from bacon jam to an obscure brand of jerky.

Whatever your man may say when you head off to your facial appointment, he’s secretly jealous..he just doesn’t know it yet. Which is why you should send him to a man’s spa for his special day. And what better place than Shizuka Men’s Spa, with services catered specifically for guys!

Let your guy know you appreciate how much he loves craft beer by treating him to The New York Beer and Brewery Tour. With stops at breweries and craft beer bars in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, he’ll get to see how beer is made, explore different boroughs of the city, and (obviously) sample a variety of craft brews! Not to mention, food and transportation are also included in the price of a ticket. If you’d rather limit the beer-drinking to your man’s apartment, you can always swing by Brooklyn Brewery and pick him up a Sorachi Ace Beer Making Kit.

For the guy that seriously loves caffeine, mix and match a few bags of coffee from a few of the best shops in the city. Some of our local favorites include Oslo Coffee Roasters, Stumptown Coffee, Cafe Grumpy, and Toby’s Estate. Throw in a New Orleans Iced Coffee kit from Blue Bottle Coffee for good measure!

Did you know that Madison Square Garden offers an all-access tour? Neither did we. If your man is a Knicks or a Rangers fan, then we’re sure he’d love a behind the scenes look at the the arena where all of their games take place. Not only will he learn about all of the history behind the 130 year old venue, he’ll get to see the locker rooms of some of his favorite sports teams.

For the Both of You

Who doesn’t love sushi?! Sushi Seki in Hell’s Kitchen is offering a special Kappo tasting menu for Valentine’s Day this year. What exactly is a Kappo tasting, you ask? It’s a traditional Japanese prix-fixe menu; this particular Kappo tasting will feature a starter and a soup, and will move through various other course choices from the Chef until you reach dessert. The best part? This menu will be available for three nights, from February 11 through February 13.

Truffles are a luxurious ingredient that are a must-order during a romantic dinner. Lucky for you, Strip House is offering a “50 Shaves of Truffle” menu for Valentine’s Day. From February 12 through February 14, you can treat that special someone to an unforgettable seven-course meal, with each course highlighting truffles in a unique and delicious way.

Treat the special guy or gal in your life to dinner at Beautique, just steps away from the iconic Plaza Hotel. In addition to a pre-fixe menu, Chef Alain Allegretti is offering a special dish for Valentine’s Day: Black Truffle Mac & Kisses. This earthy dish consists of black truffle mac & cheese (yum!) fried into the shape of a heart, and is paired with champagne and red pepper sauce. Central Park isn’t too far away, so you can take your date on a romantic carriage ride through one of New York’s landmarks after dinner!

Love to cook?
