A three-day weekend calls for an extra day of brunching. With the holiday off, and an impending snowstorm, you better bet we are making plans. We love the idea of participating in a Day of Service then heading to brunch to relax. Here are some of our top picks for brunch specials on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in the DMV.
Baba
If you’re looking to party over the long weekend, Baba has your back. This Clarendon hotspot is hosting brunch on Sunday, Jan. 20 with DJ Vibhu spinning on the tables. Stop in for a bumping brunch from 9:30 a.m – 3 p.m, or join them for a MLK Day Party with DJ Marcus on Monday.

This 14th Street staple serves a classic farm-to-table menu. We like it for the hangover cure and pancakes. Late riser? No worries, Brunch will start at 11 a.m and finish at 5 p.m.

The Bird
MLK Monday marks the last day of business for The Bird. It’s your last chance to try the poultry-centric menu before the restaurant revamps into Frenchy’s, opening at the end of the month. Brunch will be served from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and that evening, The Bird serves dinner for the last time with all food and drink 50 percent off.

DC Harvest
Get one of our favorite Friday brunch menus on a Monday for a change. DC Harvest is introducing new pear basil and honey apple mimosas at its MLK Day brunch. Looking to day drink? The H Street spot offers $20 bottomless mimosas and $25 bottomless Bloody Marys. DC Harvest is serving brunch 11 a.m.-3:45 p.m., and drinks and dessert until 5 p.m. but is closed for dinner.

The Delegate
Ready to try somewhere new? The recently-opened downtown spot will serve its Chef’s Table Brunch Buffet and mimosas starting at $9.01—an ode to the restaurant’s address—with 99 cent refills. Some of the featured dishes include peel-and-eat-shrimp, bagels with smoked salmon and dill cream cheese, buttermilk biscuits, waffles and southern fried chicken. The Delegate will offer brunch from 9 a.m-3 p.m.

Fiola Mare
Feeling fancy? One of the more extravagant brunches in D.C. is serving on Monday! Fabio Trabbochi’s famed seafood spot kicks off its new Champagne brunch featuring a three-course signature brunch menu plus a complimentary warm bread basket and bottomless mimosa service for $65. Fiola Mare is serving brunch starting at 11:30 a.m.

Shaw’s Tavern

This Georgian spot will be serving its Restaurant Week brunch deal all weekend. Warm up over shakshuka or the incredible khachapuri options, while you sip on hot Turkish tea. Supra has some of the most innovative brunch cocktails in town. This is a great option for vegan and vegetarian diners in particular. Supra is serving brunch 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
