Find Brunch Right Now

The Fashion Menu: June

This month it’s officially summer and we couldn’t be happier. Bring on the rooftop pools, patio brunches, bike rides around our respective cities, and picnics in the park.

Now that the weather is getting hotter, we’re transitioning from our easy, breezy white sundresses, relaxed denim, and neutral sandals in May to bold summer brights, attention-grabbing metallics, swimsuits, and sunnies for June.

Every Bitch knows that colorful solid silk camis are a closet staple. We are loving Parker’s silk racerback cami in bright pink and citron yellow this spring.

Cori Sue is obsessed with fashion-forward yet affordable brands like Dolce Vita, BB Dakota and her newest find, Joa. She picked up these palm front shorts from the brand to pair with a bright, kelly green lace blouse from Piperlime.

This seashore-colored extra lightweight top is a perfect staple for your summer wardrobe. Accented with fun neon embroidery, this geometric print from J. Crew is one of Emily’s wardrobe winners for weekend trips.

Ally is a true June Gemini and can often be indecisive, so she loves that she doesn’t need to choose a neon color palate with this sassy tie-die skater skirt from Urban Outfitters, it includes every color in the rainbow. She’d opt to pair this with a neutral crop top or a comfy linen muscle tee, like this version from Splendid.

Cori Sue is loving bright, neon high-waisted shorts paired with chambray tops to bicycle around Washington all summer on her new beach cruiser. These yellow shorts from Alice & Olivia are lots of fun, as are these coral, structural shorts from Shopbop.

For Charlotte, summer time means trading in her workout pants for some fun-colored shorts, like this stand-out pair of Pro Core Zigzag shorts from Nike. The playful pattern and neon coloring might just provide that extra motivation you need to get moving in these steamy months.

Emily is a big fan of Victoria’s Secret swimwear, with reasonable prices, supportive bikinis, and bright colors. This wrap cover up in over ten prints is the answer to easy beach chic. Additionally, when Emily needs a new tunic for her many summer beach trips, she can always count on Lilly Pulitzer.  This versatile number gives Emily the option for using as a show-stopping cover up, or for a polished casual beach night out.

As the weather gets warmer, the Bitches are trading stilettos for sneakers and other varieties of relaxed footwear. But practical doesn’t mean dowdy. We’re currently coveting a variety of d’orsay style flats like this bright coral pair by Loeffler Randall.

When Birkenstocks came back into style this summer, Ally’s initial shock turned into delight when she saw more fashion-forward metallic versions of the classic, hippie-chic sandal pop up in retailers such as J. Crew.

It’s no secret Cori Sue loves traipsing around town in comfy kicks, like these neon sneaks from Superga. Pair ‘em with white shorts or denim cut-offs and a silk cami and you’re good-to-go.

Emily wouldn’t get through her commute comfortably without her athletic brights from Nike, offering a lightweight, breathable, and comfortable sneaker for daytime wear.

For those of us in the muggy East Coast, we frequently escape to the coastal shoreline for a quick weekend getaway during the summer. We’re lusting over roomy Weekender bags and totes that can hold all of our summer essentials. Emily loves C. Wonder’s option for its straw material uniquely paired with cognac leather, and decorated with nautical rugby stripes. Ally can’t resist the pop of color on Kate Spade Saturday’s canvas Weekender option.

With music festival season upon us, Charlotte readies herself with this hand-crafted Embroidered Chambray Backpack. The perfect festival bag, it’s big enough to fit her must-haves, but small enough that it doesn’t weigh down Charlotte’s festival day escapades.

We’ve all had one of those nights, and now Kate Spade has finally made the walk of shame the stride of pride with this beautiful bag. Social Bitch, Amanda Jean, loves the bright neon colors and cheeky proclamation of a little too much fun the night prior.

Cori Sue loves bright, unique statement necklaces. She’s loving pieces from South Carolina designer Hyla DeWitt, but also ordered a few stand-out statement necklaces that marry tribal and neon trends together for a spectacular collar.

Ally knows one of the cardinal rules of practicing safe sun is covering up with oversized sunnies. She’s loving vintage-style tortoiseshell aviators like this Tory Burch version or this pair by C. Wonder at a slightly lower price point.

Don’t discount that beach towel as a beach accessory. Charlotte likes to stretch out in style on this plush, Native American-inspired beach towel from Pendleton.

To minimize the summer makeup routine, the Bitches opt for bronzer, mascara, and a bit of highlighter on the cheekbones. We love Benefit Watts Up! from Sephora.

On her nails, Cori Sue loves Essie’s “bottle service” in a mind-blowingly bright pink, but is also feeling brave in going with a Barbados Blue.

Fair-skinned Ally gets a much-needed boost of faux sunshine by generously applying Tan Towels from head to toe.

During the summer, Social Bitch Amanda Jean likes to forego foundation and uses a tinted moisturizer instead. She loves You Rebel by Benefit. It gives her a fresh-faced glow while also adding SPF protection!

beachy waves

Embracing her beachy waves in the summer months, Charlotte keeps things frizz-free and defined with a dollop of Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Styling treatment. No blow dryer necessary, she simply applies to her damp hair and air dries.

After a long day at the Vida Penthouse Pool, the last thing Cori Sue wants to do is her hair. She relies on Bumble & Bumble’s Surf Spray for a sexy, beachy look on a Saturday night in the summer.

Below are our favorite picks for one of our favorite times of year.
