We Bitches love the finer things in life … champagne, expensive shoes, fancy party dresses and lavish brunches that last until 5 p.m. So, naturally, we also love some fresh, enormous lobster tails—which are of course appropriate for brunch, dinner, lunch, or, you know, just an afternoon snack.

That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our new partnership with Get Maine Lobster, a fantastic company that delivers fresh lobster right from Maine to your door step.

No lobster that comes from GetMaineLobster.com reaches a tank. It comes from the morning catch and gets packed and shipped in the same day. How do they do this? The company’s lobstermen (I’d like to meet one of them … ) rise well before dawn and brave the seas to pull the daily catch before anyone else has started the day.

The company’s facility is located right off the coast of Casco Bay in Portland, Maine, which helps ensure their products are fresh and high quality. Becca just went to Portland last month and had her share of lobster at brunch.

In addition to lobster, they have seafood meals, crab cakes, shrimp skewers, surf n’ turf, clam chowder, lobster cakes, and lots of other delicious options. Hell, they’ll even send you live lobsters. (Eek!)

As we Bitches are stoked to partner with such a scrumptious site, we’re hosting a giveaway of a lobster dinner for two to allow you to judge for yourself.

In order to win, you must: (1) follow @getmainelobster on Twitter, (2) like them on Facebook, and (3) leave a comment below telling us how you’d prepare your lobster. We’ll contact the winner a week from today.

For those of you that don’t win the lobster, you can get a whopping 25 percent off your order from Get Maine Lobster with the discount code “BBLobster.” The code expires on Labor Day, so get movin’ and cookin’ those summer lobster recipes.

We’ll be providing you with fun lobster recipes in “Bitches in the Kitchen,” and more giveaways throughout the year. For more on Get Maine Lobster, check out their website.

  1. I’m a purist when it comes to lobster, so I’d start live, boil the lobster, and maybe serve it with some butter for dipping. Plus corn on the cob on the side, of course.

  2. I’m a girl of variety, and with a whole lobster there’s so much to do. Part served just plainly steamed to perfection with some butter to dip. But I also love lobster rolls, so I would want to squeeze at least one sandwich out of the lobster. And finally use the rest bits for some lobster bisque topped with old bay. I like to maximize all parts for great variety and flavor 🙂

  3. As a New Englander, the only way to eat lobster is simply, boiled and broken down, with a bit of butter for diping!

  4. I would make a lobster and strawberry risotto, and serve it with champagne. I would do it the day after Restaurant Week ends, so I could treat my tired chefly husband to something special after his crazy time.

  5. I’m a New England girl so I like my lobster simple and delicious: boiled with a side of drawn butter. I would serve it with corn on the cob, baked potatoes with sour cream and chives and a side salad—just like my Mom use to serve this meal every summer when I was a kid.

Oh and a cold Sam Adams to drink! Bring on the lobstah!

  6. Let the lobster speak for its self! Boiled, melted butter on the side, corn on the cob, and a red vinegar and oil coleslaw, the best!

  7. It’s summer…so grilling! I would make Grilled Lobster with Cilantro-Chile Butter with a heavenly apricot & goat cheese salad w/ bubbly!!

  8. As much as I love a boiled lobster, I’d make some herbed lobster rolls, from the recipe on the Get Maine Lobster site!

  9. I would do a beautiful lobster bisque and invite my bestie (who I also brunch with :)) and we would pair it with Chardonnay and the DVR!
