That’s why we pulled together this comprehensive round-up of the best District happy hours for you to take advantage of this spring.  Whether you’re looking for a great patio or rooftop, delicious bites, or just a glass of wine, we’ve got you covered, so you can enjoy the happiest of hours.

Adams Morgan/U Street


Head to 18th Street to sip bourbon on a patio, complete with string lights and space heaters. Take advantage of their daily drink specials such as $5 bourbon, $4 off craft cocktails, and $2 off all draft beer. Order a local cheese plate for $12 and sit back and relax. MINTWOOD offers glasses of wine for $5, draft beer for $4, and a specialty cocktail for $8. Also on the menu are small plates, entrees, and desserts ranging from $4 to $12. The drink deals are great here, but what really makes this happy hour stand out is the large list of delicious bites offered and the cozy patio. Start off with warm olives or goat cheese broccolini and indulge in the rigatoni Bolognese. Enjoy happy hour from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday. Vinoteca has an amazing patio and bocce set-up that can’t be beat. There are 15 different wines offered for $5 a glass and Peroni drafts for $5 during happy hour. There are also select small plates at discounted prices. Happy hour is from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and is only served in the bar areas. The trip to Bethesda is well worth it with these happy hour deals and gorgeous rooftop. Crave has $4, $5, and $6 drink deals that include draft beer, wine, mojitos, martinis, and more. There is a huge food menu as well that will leave you craving more. Crave has food deals ranging from $3 to $6 such as truffle parmesan fries, guacamole, flatbreads, sushi, and buffalo chicken sliders. Silver has an amazing happy hour—the drinks are strong and the food is delicious. There are $5 draft beers, $7 8-oz. wine pours, and house spirits for $6. Silver also serves various cocktails for $6 and $7. If that weren’t enough already, there is also an ample food menu. Silver offers mouthwatering goat cheese bruschetta, crispy Brussels sprouts, and sliders all ranging from $5 to $13. This is one of the Bitches favorite spots to get a good glass of wine and satisfying food outside of the busyness of the District. Capitol Hill

Art & Soul

Head to Art & Soul for a great happy hour and lovely patio seating. There are cocktails for $6, wine for $7, and draft beer for $6. Diversity is key here as they offer seven different types of wine to choose from during the happiest of hours. There is also a robust food menu which includes calamari for $12 and fried green pickled tomatoes for $5. Sonoma Restaurant and Wine Bar

Sonoma has happy hour in a great spot with an adorable patio. There are $5 draft beers and $6 select wines. You can also find seasonal bar bites that will only set you back $9 for three, $14 for five, and $19 for seven. These food specials change daily, which is a great way to try everything on the menu. Lavagna also offers a fantastic happy hour with a dog-friendly patio. Served in the upstairs bar only, you can find $4 draft beer, $7 craft cocktails, and wine for 25 percent off by the glass. Go for the deals and stay for dinner. Enjoy bruschetta for $9 or make your own cheese board. Don’t miss the handmade pasta, like the spaghetti Bolognese for $17 or bacon risotto for $18. Lavagna serves happy hour from Tuesday through Friday from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Go on a Tuesday and get a half-priced bottle of wine with dinner. Dupont Circle


Boqueria is conveniently located in Dupont and has great sangria which makes it a solid spot for happy hour. You’ll find draft beer for $4, wine for $7, a daily cocktail for $8, sangria for $5, and much more. Select snacks from a  large tapas menu with dishes such as tortilla, patatas bravas, and churros. I can’t think of a better way to spend my night than with sangria and tapas relaxing on a patio in the heart of D.C. Buffalo Billiards

Do Bitches like billiards? Yes, we do! If you’re in the mood for bar games, bar food, and sports then head to Buffalo Billiards Monday through Friday for happy hour. Buffalo Billiards offers $4 beer, $5.50 wine, and $5.50 rail drinks. There are also $6 chips and guacamole, mozzarella sticks, and more. Lauriol Plaza

Lauriol Plaza is throwing a rooftop happy hour from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Yes, 10 p.m. Margaritas and beer go for $3.99 and half pitchers of margaritas cost $11.95. The rooftop happy hour takes place Monday through Thursday. Regular happy hour is served from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. from Sunday through Friday. The best part about Lauriol Plaza is the rooftop. Get a head start on happy hour with Central’s brasserie bites available for $6-$12 in the bar and lounge only from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Try the sliders, onion bacon tart, or prosciutto tart. Grillfish has so many deals that it’s almost impossible to list them all here. There are rail drinks, beer, and wine for $5, as well as other drink deals ranging from $3.50 to $15. On Margarita Mondays (Bitches love alliteration), they serve funky margaritas for $3.50 and fish tacos for $2. Teddy & The Bully Bar

There are great deals at this presidential-themed restaurant and bar with a gorgeous patio as well. There are craft cocktails for $8 -$9 as well as spirits for $5. Draft beer goes for $5 and wine is $8 a glass. The bar bites sound delicious and range from $2 to $14. Happy hour food specials are served Monday through Sunday and include mac & cheese, oysters, truffle fries, and much more for all under $7 each. El Centro D.F.

I am a big fan of El Centro’s margaritas. They’re fresh and strong and the bartenders really know what they’re doing. El Centro serves margaritas, agua frescas, wine, and beer for just $5. ENO Wine Bar

ENO has special deals almost everyday of the week, but every Sunday through Thursday they have happy hour from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. where they offer $5 wine on tap. On Mondays from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. you can take advantage of the buy-one-get-one free glass of wine, or a wine flight. Tuesdays is college night and ENO offers $5 wine on tap, $5 beer, and $7 grilled cheese from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m. Like live music? Every Thursday there is a performance from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. ENO also serves amazing bites and nibbles, such as cheese boards and bruschetta flights for $12. Maxime is a hidden gem on M Street that offers a great and satisfying happy hour. There are draft beers ranging from $3 to $8 that you can enjoy at the bar from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. The best deal is the half-priced mussel pots for $9. There are four different flavors and they come with fresh, warm baked bread straight from the oven as well as tasty French fries. For $9 you get the entrée-sized portion which is more than enough for two to three people to share for dinner. There are also happy hour bites for $5. Maxime serves happy hour Monday through Friday. H Street


I had a blast at Argonaut’s Science Trivia Night, and I don’t even like science. This dive bar offers a casual and rustic atmosphere with great specials, as well as fun activities perfect for date night or after work. Argonaut has a different theme every night of the week from trivia night, to half-priced burgers, to poker night. The regular happy hour from Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. can’t be beat. There are $3 select glasses of wine, $10 select bottles of wine, $4 draft pours, and $3 rail drinks. DC Harvest

DC Harvest is a Bitch-approved locale that offers fresh farm-to-table food and the happy hour is no different. There are drafts of beer and glasses of wine for $5 and the cocktails are $6-$8. DC Harvest offers some yummy bar bites as well starting at $3. Logan Circle

B Too

B Too serves happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wine, bubbles, and beer are only $5. Bar bites start at $7. The full charcuterie board is $20. Happy hour is from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and offers menu items priced from $3 to $7. The bites include truffle fries (which I can never pass up), edamame, Brussels sprouts, and Buffalo chicken mac & cheese. Oh, did I mention the tacos, nachos, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and pizza for all under $7. Unbeatable. The drinks are all under $7 and include beer, wine, bubbly, and cocktails. If you’re in the mood for oysters, then head to Eat The Rich for a “locals only” happy hour. Here you’ll find $1 oysters and constantly changing drink specials. Usually, they offer highballs, such as a gin and tonic, for $7, $11 classic cocktails, and $9 wine. They also have awesome pitchers and oyster shooters.
