D.C. Oktoberfest Guide

Some of us might be still lamenting the end of summer. Here at Bitches Who Brunch, we’re welcoming fall with open arms. Apart from leaning into our basic bitch behavior of consuming pumpkin-flavored everything and snapping photos of fall foliage, we’re ready for the holidays shared among the people we love (read: tolerate).

The first celebration on that list is Oktoberfest. For some, making the trip to Germany for a few days of camaraderie drinking the country’s best beer isn’t a possibility. Thankfully, some of our favorite places in the District are holding events stateside that you won’t want to miss. Read on to see how D.C. is celebrating Oktoberfest and make arrangements before it’s too late.

The Alex Brunch

The Graham Georgetown Rooftop

From now until October 4, enjoy specialties like Devils Backbone’s O’fest, Bavarian pretzels with beer cheese dip, and even a loaded Oktoberfest platter with half-smoke sausage, kielbasa, and bratwurst. It’s a feast you don’t want to miss. Read our brunch review here.

Wunder Garten

Wunder Garten’s fifth annual Oktoberfest celebration runs until October 6. Until then, you can partake in live music, Bavarian Olympics and a kick the keg party. Dog owners and lovers take note: On Sunday, September 29 and Sunday, October 6 from noon until 2 p.m., there’s a special “dogtoberfest” for your furry friends.

City Tap House - Dupont

City Tap House

Both City Tap locations will be hosting an Oktoberfest-themed brunch on Saturday, September 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Menu items include bratwursts, German potato salad, spätzle, and meatballs. There’s even a stein-hoisting competition happening and guests can compete for the champion title and a special prize from Victory Brewing Company. Read what we had to say about brunch here.
