It’s the mother of all brunch dates: Mother’s Day! This holiday is probably the most important brunch day of the year, and it’s certainly one you need to plan ahead for. Restaurants book up early, and expectations for this holiday are high. So don’t let mom down! Plan ahead, make your reservation, and don’t forget flowers and a card. Here are our top recommendations for Mother’s Day brunch in Chicago.
Allium
Let’s just start at the top! What mom doesn’t love being treated to brunch at The Four Seasons? The iconic hotel does holidays like no other and will surely treat your mom like the queen that she is. Allium’s brunch buffet has something for every mom’s taste – from charcuterie and cheese to a raw seafood bar, carving station, sushi and dim sum, custom omelet station, salads, and sweets. Band of Bohemia
For the trendy, foodie mom who wants to go to the coolest place in town, you can’t beat this Michelin-starred brewpub in Ravenswood. They’ll be offering creative dishes including an ostera reserve caviar crepe cake, croque madame, chicken tempura, and Copenhagen royale – a dish with smoked salmon, goat cheese, scrambled eggs, beets, and rye bread. Sample their seasonal brews and libations surrounded by bohemian decor.

Bernie’s
Bernie’s is an upscale choice for the mom who enjoys classic, traditional brunch dishes. It’s also a great option for large groups, which can be tough to schedule on this popular brunch day! Bernie’s is known for favorites like their blueberry acai bowl, avocado toast, fried egg sandwich, and green and grains salad bowl. The vibrant, colorful, and modern decor is the perfect background for a festive meal – plus seating is also available on the rooftop patio!

BLVD
For the glam mom, there’s nowhere better than BLVD. The restaurant’s decor will transport you straight to old Hollywood with luxurious chandeliers, an opulent grand staircase, and retro decor. The brunch menu is a $55 prix fixe starting with beignets, croissants, bacon, cheesy creamed potatoes, and parfaits for the table. Brunchers will get to choose three entrées, served family style. Choices include salad, cured salmon toast, pain perdu, sourdough johnny cakes, oeufs en meurette, a croque madame, and the BLVD burger. For a slight up-charge, you can also add chicken and waffles or steak and eggs. Luxe add-ons include oysters, a seafood tower, a bone-in ribeye, and caviar service.

The Dawson
Along with their regular brunch staples, The Dawson will be offering dishes including lobster eggs Benedict, wild striped bass, and spinach and gruyere quiche. The special Mother’s Day offerings also cover sweet treats. Moms can start with pecan cinnamon rolls or a dried fruit scone and end with a strawberry shortcake parfait.
