This April 14th, an organization called bRUNch Running is bringing their famed brunch run concept to the streets of New York City for the first time. When I saw the event listing come through via my Facebook newsfeed, I knew the Bitches had to be a part of this phenomenon. As an avid runner and bruncher (duh), this concept brought to the Big Apple by way of Denver is right up my alley.
Join me and bRUNch Running founders Cortney Logan and Alexandra Weissner as we start and end our 5 or 10k (your choice) race through NYC at San Remo Cafe in SoHo. Tickets are on sale for just $50 for this fun run and post race buffet style brunch feast until April 1st. Prices then go up to $55 and are $60 day of. Secure your spot and buy your tickets here.
What’s included? Well Bitches, your ticket gets you a guided run from sponsors Jack Rabbit and New Balance, a runner’s bib and finisher pin, brunch buffet including a brunch libation and coffee, donation on your behalf to a local non-profit, a goodie bag filled with coveted items from partners like Shape Magazine, and a fun-filled day with brunch and fitness lovers from around the country.
We can’t believe we didn’t think of this first.
Roughly five years ago, bRUNch Running was created as a way to mesh the founders’ love for food and fitness. Now, the organization holds over 25 innovative events across the country varying in size from 40 to 750 participants all with one very important commonality– the love of brunch!
“bRUNch Running focuses on motivating individuals to get active and reward themselves for a job well done all through running/ fitness, eating, drinking, and being social. We believe fitness and delicious food and beverage are essential for a happy and balanced life. We pick a date, a location (restaurant or fitness studio), running route(s), do the menu planning, and take care of the check at the end! All that our participants have to do is just purchase a ticket online and show up for a morning of fun.” says the founders.
Oh and if your girl gang or brunch loving boo aren’t into running, participants have the option to run, walk, or even just brunch!
