A note from the Bitches: Today we have a quick-and-easy brunch recipe from our talented friend Lindsey of The Date Dish, a website that caters to helping young people whip up impressive-yet-easy dishes to wow their significant others or future lovers. We all know the rules of the Bitches Who Brunch: if there’s doughnuts on the menu, they must be ordered. Regardless of whether I’m officially brunching with the Bitches, my girlfriends and I can never seem to resist ordering off of a brunch menu is freshly made doughnuts.

What’s better than soft melt-in-your-mouth bites of fried carb perfection? Not much. Best of all, it turns out doughnuts are one of the easiest dishes that anyone can make at home. My simple recipe uses store-bought biscuit dough and only takes about 10 minutes to make a whole batch.  Try presenting them on a cinnamon stick for a cute “doughnut pop” that will be sure to wow your friends.

Ingredients:
-8 or more cinnamon sticks
– 1 can store-bought buttermilk biscuit dough (I like Pillsbury)
– Peanut oil
– 1/2 cup granulated sugar
– 2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
1. Separate biscuits and cut into quarters. Roll each section into balls.
2. Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl, and place next to the stove.
3. Heat peanut oil in a pot until it reaches 360 degrees. Try to keep it right at this temperature as you go through each batch. Working in batches of 4-5, fry the doughnut holes. Flip them halfway through until both sides are golden brown. Remove immediately into the cinnamon sugar mixture, and roll around.
4. Optional: Pierce a cinnamon stick halfway through the doughnut hole to present it as a doughnut pop.
5. Serve with whipped cream and enjoy!
