Last night, I was fortunate to be a guest at DC Magazine’s launch party for their May/June travel issue, held at the much-buzzed-about new Buddha Bar.
There was a rather long line—and a very strict entrance policy—so I was thrilled to get in. The crowd was swanky—and, most importantly, surprisingly well-dressed for Washington. (This may be due to the presence of the Saks Fifth Avenue fashion team in attendance).
The Buddha Bar was larger than I expected—and very chic. From the enormous Buddha in the center of the room to the servers in Kimono-esque attire, they really take the Asian theme to the highest level. The sushi was delicious—and so were the cosmopolitans. The music was sexy; the lighting was sultry. I can definitely see why Buddha Bar is immensely popular at its other cosmopolitan locations, which include London, Dubai, Sao Paolo, Monte Carlo, and more. (See FishbowlDC’s coverage of the event here).
The bitches will definitely be heading back to Buddha Bar soon. Be sure to check out DC Magazine’s travel issue, online here. Also, the mag gave rave reviews on DC’s other new sushi place, Kushi, to which Living Social Deals is offering a $25 for $50 special, purchase here.
